In light of the fact that Ben Affleck recently skipped Jennifer Lopez's birthday trip in the Hamptons, it is possible that an official statement regarding the couple's potential marriage is not too far off.
“Everyone is on high alert for a formal divorce announcement any day now,” an unnamed source told New Idea Magazine.
On July 24, Jennifer celebrated her 55th birthday with a party that was styled after the Bridgerton series. On the other hand, Ben, who is 51 years old, was nowhere to be seen. He remained in Los Angeles in order to attend business meetings.
“There were still hopes that Ben might show up at her party right up until the end. Jen told everyone he wasn’t able to make it … [but] he’s not filming at the minute, so it didn’t make any sense,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.
There has not been a single photograph of Ben and Jennifer together in the past two months. The “Papi” singer shared a selfie on Instagram the previous week in which she was not wearing her wedding band. On July 16, which was also their wedding anniversary, she and Ben were not together.
Following other rumors that state the pair has been living apart for "months," Jennifer and Ben’s marital house in Beverly Hills, which is valued at $90 million, has now been put up for sale to the general public.
“It’s humiliating and they’re dreading the “I told you sos.” Both of them want to have their houses in order before their marriage goes through a media postmortem,” the informant said to the magazine.
Meanwhile, another report suggested that Ben has bought a new $20 million house in Los Angeles. On Saturday, July 26, TMZ reported, citing real estate sources, that the escrow for the five-bedroom home had been closed earlier this week before the weekend.
In the midst of persistent difficulty in their marriage, Ben, who is 51 years old, and his wife Jennifer put their Beverly Hills house up for sale earlier in July for the price of $68 million. After getting married in July 2022, the couple purchased the property three years later in May 2023 for the price of $60,850,000.
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, earlier this month, celebrity real estate agent Josh Flagg, who is not affiliated with either of the homes, stated that the fact that Ben and Jennifer have publicly listed their Beverly Hills house for sale at a price that is "relatively close to what they paid for it" demonstrated that they "really want to move the property."
“With that said, I’m also going to take [a guess] that they’re not going to walk out of this making money. They’re going to either break even or take a small loss,” the “Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles” star added.
A tipster informed PEOPLE in June that Ben and Jennifer "don't have any summer plans together" and are "focused on their separate lives." This is despite the fact that neither Ben nor Jennifer has publicly discussed the condition of their marriage. PEOPLE Magazine received information from a number of individuals in May indicating that Ben and Jennifer had began living apart in Los Angeles due to the tension that existed inside their relationship.
The celebration of Samuel's graduation took place on June 12 in a rented home in Brentwood, which was hosted by Ben. Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez were both present to commemorate the achievement of this milestone. Earlier on the same day, Ben and the "Papi" hitmaker attended Samuel's graduation ceremony while both of them wore their wedding rings.
In late June, Ben moved his belongings out of the Beverly Hills home he shared with Jennifer before she returned from a recent trip to Europe, a mole told PEOPLE.
“Ben continues to live at the Brentwood rental. He’s been there for about two months now. He seems okay. He’s been at his office every day and seems focused on work. He’s also spending time with his kids,” another tattler added.
