It should come as no surprise given his pop icon mother Madonna is estimated to be worth close to $1.3 billion; therefore, it is not surprising that her son David Banda raised eyebrows when he stated that he was broke and "scavenging" for food.

“It’s lovely to experience it being nine o’clock at night, me being hungry and realising I don’t have enough money to get food,” the 18-year-old wrote on Instagram.

However, David, who is currently residing in the Bronx with his fiancée Maria Atuesta and earning his living by teaching guitar lessons, swiftly clarified to those who were concerned that "my mother is very supportive of me."

An unnamed source told Woman’s Day Australia that the post was just a poor choice of words. “To his credit, he really does want to make it on his own and one day be independent of his mum,” it added.

In addition, there are many who believe that if he ever finds himself without a partner, he might be able to make ends meet by appearing on his preferred reality show. “Reality TV is great... I like Love Island,” David said.

Business Times has reached out to Madonna for comments.

Meanwhile, five-time champion Dennis Rodman revealed that Madonna once called him while he was gambling in Vegas to inform him that she was ovulating. As a result, Rodman put a hold on the table, boarded a jet that Madonna had prepared for him, traveled to New York, attended to his business, and then returned to Las Vegas to continue playing.

“Oh I tried…. I was rolling the dice in Vegas, that’s a good story, and she’s in New York. She calls: ‘Dennis, you got a call from Madonna!’ he just screams it, right. I said ‘to hell with you man, that’s bull crap.’ He said ‘no Dennis, you got a call from Madonna’. I said ‘hold the dice,’ get the call she said ‘Dennis, you know I’m ovulating.’ I said ‘WHAT?’” Dennis divulged.

“‘I’ll be there in five hours’. So I put the dice down and said ‘hold the table’. So she sends a plane for me, G5, went to the airport, flew here, went over to here house, did my thing, went back on the plane, they had held the table, and started playing dice again,” he went on.

When questioned if he was disappointed that he wasn't able to impregnate Madonna on that particular day, Dennis disclosed that there was a lot more in store for him than making a baby, and that amount was $20 million. As most fans are all aware, the situation did not work out, and Dennis was not successful in getting Madonna pregnant.

“No! Well, well, she asked me if I got her pregnant, she paid me $20 million,” Dennis concluded.
