Nicki Minaj is being accused of ignoring requests to take a deposition for the hit-and-run driver who was responsible for the death of her father, a new report claimed.

Charles Polevich, who is being sued by Nicki'S mother, Carol Maraj, over the death of her husband, Robert Maraj, in February 2021, is alleged to have served the rapper with a request to take her deposition in July, according to court documents that were obtained by In Touch Weekly.

Charles claimed that he made an offer to take Nicki's deposition in a virtual setting. “We do understand that you are on tour during this time so we would like to work with you for what fits your schedule. We also understand you are in New York on September 7, 2024, should that time period work better for your schedule, we would be happy to accommodate,” his lawyer noted.

“To date, no response has been received from the non-party witness and it is apparent that the non-party witness does not intend to cooperate and voluntarily provide testimony that is material to defense of this action,” Charles’ lawyer furthered..

In an effort to secure Nicki's cooperation, Charles submitted a request for assistance to the court. As previously reported, Charles is interested in questioning Nicki about her personal history.

He stated that the “Super Bass” rapper had previously asserted in interviews that her father had been abusive to her mother. Since Carol was alleging in her lawsuit for $150 million that she lost Robert's "comfort" and "companionship" after he passed away, Charles contended that the information was relevant for his defense because Carol was arguing that she had lost Robert.

Since Carol was not a party to the case, she contended that Nicki should not be required to appear for a deposition in the case because she was not a party to the case. “It was also made clear that Nicki is not a party to this action and to have her testify as to musical lyrics, which could be completely made up, false, and taken out of context, was a waste of time and borderline harassment for the family,” her lawyer stated.

“As this Court and Defendant will surely agree, a majority of, if not all of the lyrics contained in the millions of songs produced yearly are made up, false, fabricated and do not actually contain true facts,” he went on.

In the past, the judge who is presiding over the case determined that the lyrics that Nicki has written about her father are "directly relevant" to the allegations that Carol has made in her complaint, NPR reported. He made the decision that Charles had the right to ask Nicki to demonstrate up for a deposition.

On the other hand, Nicki has not provided a response. Charles's request for assistance in this situation has not yet been met with a response from a court. With regard to the criminal case that Charles was involved in, he was accused of hitting Robert when he was crossing the street on Long Island.

The hospital was hurried to treat Nicki's father, but he passed just a few hours later. Before authorities arrived, the motorist reportedly abandoned the area, according to the police. Using surveillance footage, law enforcement was able to locate Charles effectively.

A tarp was used by Charles to cover the 1992 Volvo Station Wagon that was parked at his residence. Both fleeing the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence were the charges that were brought against him. When Charles appeared in court, he stated that there was "no excuse" for his behavior. In the year 2022, he was given a sentence of one year in prison.
