Cardi B has stated in the paperwork that she is going through with her divorce that her ex-husband Offset is the father of her pregnant child.
It was reported Cardi B, who is 31 years old, has stated that the cause for their breakup was "irreconcilable differences." She is also requesting child support for their children, who are daughter Kulture, who is 5 years old, son Wave, who is 2 years old, and baby No. 3.
Additionally, according to paperwork that were acquired by TMZ, the rapper known for his song "I Like It" is requesting primary custody of the children. Whether or not the former couple signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding in 2017 is unknown.
The announcement comes just one day after the rapper known as "WAP" filed for divorce from her husband and announced her pregnancy news a few hours later.
“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!” Cardi B captioned her exciting baby announcement.
Cardi filed divorce paperwork on Wednesday, July 31, amid ongoing rumors that the Migos rapper, 32, cheated on her. “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do,” an unnamed source told Page Six.
“They both have been trying to figure out what their future looks like for a while now. It’s not something that happened overnight … They’ve both been on the same page. There wasn’t [pushback],” the anonymous insider went on.
There have been previous instances in which divorce papers have been submitted for the pair, despite the fact that it appears that their marriage has come to an end for good. In the year 2020, Cardi first submitted a petition for divorce; but, shortly after that, they were able to mend their relationship. It was in December 2023 when people discovered that they had stopped following each other on social media that they rekindled the rumors that they had split up.
“You know when you just out grow [sic] relationships. I’m tired of protecting peoples [sic] feelings … I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST,” Cardi B stated at the time.
Through the entirety of their marriage, Offset, whose true name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, has been at the heart of suspicions that she has been cheating on her partner. After a video that appeared to show him sitting at a table with his alleged ex-girlfriend Big PrettyRedz went viral, allegations of adultery were brought to the forefront of the conversation.
The native of Georgia, who is also the father of kids Jordan, 14, Kody, 8, and daughter Kalea, 9, from prior relationships, refuted the charges in a video posted to Instagram Live on July 30. He stated, "Shawty ain't my shawty."
Cardi B's representative has stated that the couple's marriage did not end due to adultery on any of their parts. “They’ve grown apart and that feeling has gotten stronger overtime. It’s become unavoidable,” the rep told Page Six.
