As Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck continue to struggle to hash out the specifics of a divorce deal, their relationship continues to get increasingly tense and tense.

According to sources who spoke with TMZ, the A-list couple is saying that they are not speaking with each other in person or over the phone, which is causing delays in the legal separation process. There is a prenuptial agreement between Ben, who is 51 years old, and Jennifer, who is 55 years old, and it is believed that the sole asset that will be divided is their Beverly Hills property.

July 11 was the day when In Touch Weekly confirmed the residence was advertised for sale. According to the outlet, the “Batman” actor and the diva who is known for "Love Don't Cost a Thing" track have reportedly decided against hiring attorneys and instead have chosen to rely on their respective business managers to negotiate the divorce.

During the month of May, In Touch Weekly published an exclusive report stating that Jennifer and Ben's marriage was unstable, as evidenced by the fact that the “Good Will Hunting” star had moved out of their luxurious marital home.

“The writing is on the wall – it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce,” an unnamed source said of the Ben and Jennifer at the time.

Earlier this year, rumors of a breakup began to circulate after the pair had not been seen together for a considerable amount of time. The most notable instance of this was when Ben did not attend the Met Gala on May 6, which was a prominent annual fashion event.

Ben claimed that he was absent from the event because he was filming "The Accountant 2" at the time; however, an anonymous insider revealed to In Touch in an exclusive interview that the true reason he was absent was because his marriage was crumbling.

“It’s just depressing that Ben couldn’t find the time or inclination to be there and support Jennifer,” another informant claimed at the time.

After that, the situation has become much worse. Ben and Jennifer did not even acknowledge one other or the significant milestone in their relationship on July 16, the day that they celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary because they were apart. In addition, the actor from "Gone Girl" did not show up for Jennifer's birthday party in the Hamptons on July 21. This occurred one week later.

“Jennifer knew better, but a part of her was still hoping that he would show up. Some of the guests thought so, too. Ben’s absence was definitely noticed. While it was the elephant in the room, no one dared to ask the birthday girl about it,” the tipster shared.

The fact that Ben completed the purchase of his brand-new bachelor house in Pacific Palisades, which cost him $20.5 million, on the same day that his estranged wife celebrated her birthday made the situation much more difficult.

Over the past few days, Jen has been seen wearing the engagement ring that Ben purchased for her on August 1. New York City was the location where the singer of "Let's Get Loud" was seen going about her business looking absolutely stunning. She was wearing a floral dress and red stiletto heels. The fact that she was wearing the ring on the wrong hand was, however, the most noteworthy aspect of the situation.

Ben was seen in Los Angeles sporting a new faux-hawk hairstyle around the same time; however, he chose to leave his wedding ring at home that he was wearing.

In the early 2000s, Jen and Ben began their romantic relationship, and they had planned to get married in 2003. However, they quickly decided to call off their wedding plans. After that, in January of 2004, they decided to part ways. The couple did not reconcile until nearly 20 years later, in the year 2021, and they ultimately tied the knot in July of the following year, in 2022.
