There is a terrible choice that Prince Harry must make, and it has the potential to destroy any opportunity he has of reconciling with his estranged family, which includes King Charles and the Prince William and Princess Kate along with other members of his family.
Since Prince Harry and his wife Meghan made the announcement in early 2020 that they would be stepping down from their positions as senior working royals, relations between Harry and the royal family have been in a state of disarray. They went on to give a nasty tell-all interview to Oprah Winfrey, in which they charged racism within the royal family.
Prince Harry has since retracted his statements over the matter. They have also gone on to make various criticisms of the monarchy, whether it be in their Netflix series or in Prince Harry's book "Spare."
The publication of “Spare” proved to be the final straw for the family, and now it has been stated that Prince Harry's publisher is "putting a ton of pressure on him" to write a sequel to his contentious memoirs that were published in 2023. There is a conundrum concerning the Prince.
It has been reported that "Spare" has generated profits of sixteen million pounds, but an unnamed source has cautioned that if he were to publish "more salacious details on the royals" for a new book, Prince Harry would be unable to reconcile with his family.
"It's got to be a tough spot for Harry to be in, because the publisher is putting a ton of pressure on him to deliver some more salacious details on the royals. It's not exactly like his family have been very forgiving, so no doubt there's some feeling on Harry’s part that he’s got nothing left to lose,” an anonymous insider told Heat UK.
"But if he wants any chance of a relationship, he'd be a fool to cave. The royals still can't believe some of the things Harry said in his book, and it will go down in history as one of the biggest betrayals of the monarchy in modern memory. For him to rub salt in the wounds again for his own personal gain would send him so far into the doghouse that there'd be no way back—it would ruin any chance of reconciliation,” the informant further stated to the entertainment news outlet.
In addition, the tipster stated that Harry is having a difficult time coming up with new material for his upcoming book, despite the fact that he has begun a new life with Meghan in the United States. "The harsh reality is that there's very little to include at this point besides his experience of being ostracized by the royals,” it added.
It is possible that Prince Harry's relationship with Prince William is already beyond repair, regardless of whether or not he writes the sequel. It has been reported that the future King has made the decision to "sever all ties" with his younger sibling.
"I think as far as William is concerned, Harry really doesn't exist. William has enough pressure on his heart and his head, with his wife [Princess of Wales] and her ongoing cancer treatment, and his father [King Charles], his job and his kids that I don't think he's got any room in his soul to worry about his estranged brother... I think William has disowned Harry,” BBC 's former royal correspondent Jennie Bond told Times Radio.
Additionally, royal author Tom Quinn is of the opinion that the connection between Prince Harry and William may be irreparable beyond repair. "Having their own families means the brothers no longer need each other as they did after the death of their mother. Emotional support comes now from their partners, partners untainted by dysfunctional royal childhoods,” he told The Mirror.
"Yet even while complaining about his position as the spare, Harry won’t take the lead in trying to reconcile with his brother. He still expects William to make the first move in any attempt to reconcile. William is so annoyed with Harry's complaints and attacks on the royals that he has completely shut down and has no intention of extending the hand of friendship – in case it gets bitten off,” he added.
