As Meghan Markle celebrates her 43rd birthday, she disclosed that she has "only scraped the surface" of revealing the suicidal thoughts she had while working as a royal in the United Kingdom. This revelation comes at the same time that she begins a campaign with her husband, Prince Harry, that aims to address the issue of child safety online.

The objective of the initiative, which is being referred to as The Parents' Network, is to offer assistance to parents and caregivers in overcoming the difficulties that are associated with the digital world.

During an interview with CBS, Meghan and Prince Harry addressed the motivation behind the program, highlighting the significance of providing a secure environment in which parents can access assistance when they need it.

"I think when you've been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey, certainly part of mine, is being able to be really open about it," Meghan told the network.

"I haven't really scraped the surface on my experience, but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way. And I would never want someone else to be making those sorts of plans and I would never want someone else to not be believed,” the Duchess of Sussex added.

By being transparent about the traumatic experiences she has had in the past, Meghan aims to motivate and encourage others. “If me voicing what I have overcome will save someone or encourage someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them and not assume that the appearance is good so everything's okay, then that's worth it...I'll take a hit for that,” she stated.

Also, Meghan and Prince Harry had the opportunity to speak with parents who had sadly lost their children to suicide, as per RadarOnline. In a prior interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duchess of Sussex said that she had previously entertained suicidal ideas. She recounted a terrifying moment in which she informed her husband that she "didn't want to be alive anymore."

In spite of the fact that she wanted assistance, Meghan did not feel supported by the human resources department at Buckingham Palace because she was not considered a "paid employee."

After entering the royal family, Meghan revealed that she felt as though she had been stripped of her personal belongings. She also disclosed that she had experienced feelings of loneliness within the royal family. She found comfort in her husband, Prince Harry, whom she attributes to "saving her life" by agreeing to relocate to Los Angeles. She found peace in him.

One of the goals of the program that Meghan and Harry have started is to prevent other tragedies similar to those that were experienced by the parents that they met during the CBS interview interview.

By means of their Archewell Foundation, the pair has established a community in which individuals are able to collaborate in order to combat the negative impact that social media has on young people.

The website of the foundation has been updated with a video that features parents who have lost their children to suicide as a result of being subjected to internet abuse. This video is part of the campaign.

Additionally, guides that concentrate on social media platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok have been made available to caregivers in order to assist them in better protecting their children while they are operating online.
