Today, Meghan Markle celebrates her birthday, and as she enters another year of her life, she appears to be at a crossroads in her professional life.
A royal-style four-day visit of Colombia is scheduled to take place this summer, and it was just this week that it was confirmed that she and Prince Harry will be touring the country. Additionally, she is scheduled to make an appearance on a television program in the United States later today, when she will be accompanied by her husband, to discuss their new initiative that aims to assist children in maintaining their safety while using the internet.
When it comes to her lifestyle company American Riviera Orchard, on the other hand, there have been very few updates since the website and Instagram account were made available to the public in March. There have only been a few social media posts made by some of Meghan's pals concerning the jam that they received with the brand's name on it.
It is possible that this is a hint that the couple's life plan has run into significant difficulties, according to royal author Tom Quinn. "[Prince] Harry has never had any real idea about becoming an entrepreneur or a businessman in his own right. He is trained from birth to do one thing only – to be a royal and he has thrown that away,” he told The Mirror.
"His one hundred per cent support for his wife and her business ventures has never wavered but it hasn’t been enough to make a success of her company. Meghan is proof that self-belief won’t always guarantee success. It won't always make you a great entrepreneur and businesswoman,” Tom added.
There is no information available regarding how Meghan will celebrate her birthday today; however, the big day will be commemorated by her and Harry's appearance on television in the United States. Later on today, they will be broadcasting an interview that they have pre-recorded for CBS Sunday Morning. The discussion will be about a new project that is designed to support parents of children who have been touched by online abuse.
"Our kids are young, they are three and five, they’re amazing, but all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so as we can see what’s happening in the online space, we know that there’s a lot of work to be done there and we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good,” Meghan stated about her eldest child Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet in a video released online.
“At this point, we’ve got to the stage where almost every parent needs to be a first responder, and even the best first responders in the world wouldn’t be able to tell the signs of possible suicide. That is the terrifying piece of this,” Prince Harry stated, in a reference to how the mental well-being of young people can be affected by experiences online.
Meanwhile, with regard to the journey to Colombia, Prince Harry and Meghan will travel to Bogota, the capital of Colombia, as well as other locations, with the expectation of receiving an equally enthusiastic response as they did during their tour of Nigeria, which was similar to a state visit. They will arrive by plane because they have been invited to do so by Vice President Francia Márquez, who is also the Minister of Equality, as per Hindustan Times.
In preparation for the first Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, which is scheduled to take place in Colombia in November of this year, the excursion is scheduled to take place this forthcoming summer. Colombia, which is the only country in Latin America to have participated in the Invictus Games, which Prince Harry organized, is the beneficiary of the bond that the two individuals have established with Colombia.
“[Prince] Harry and Meghan will carry out a series of engagements aligned to the work of their Foundation and lifelong philanthropic endeavors. The visit is part of their ongoing commitment to global philanthropy, building on their previous work in various countries and continuing their efforts to make a positive impact worldwide,” an unnamed source told the publication.
