Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts have been bestie for years, offering each other support. However, the two Aussie actresses occasionally find each other in direct competition.
An unnamed source told Star Magazine that Nicole is bitterly disappointed that she did not receive an Emmy nod for her role in Prime Video’s “Expats,” which she also produced. Naomi, on the other hand, did score a nomination in that category for F/X miniseries “Feud: Truman vs. The Swans.”
“Being pitted against Nicole makes everything 10 times harder for Naomi, because of their decades of history together and especially because they were best friends from their early 20s on,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.
“Nicole absolutely campaigned harder than Naomi did, but Naomi seems to have prevailed strictly on merit,” the informant went on. It’s a turnaround for Nicole and Naomi.
“Nicole has a killer instinct about getting awards that Naomi just doesn’t have. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for her this time around,” the tipster stated.
Business Times has reached out to Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts for comments.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Nicole and Keith Urban are discussing the possibility of relocating to a new location. In their search for a new family home, the couple, who have been residing in Nashville since 2007, is currently torn between the cities of Sydney and Los Angeles.
According to a mole who spoke to New Idea Magazine, Keith, who is 56 years old and has previously struggled with addiction, believes that maintaining a busy lifestyle is one effective way to control it. This makes Los Angeles an ideal destination to work more.
“One of Keith's keys to staying clean and sober is keeping busy,” the tattler shared, claiming that Keith is “making noise in his circle that he wants to work more in Los Angeles if he can.”
According to the naysayer, Keith came to the fact that he is feeling his way out of the country music industry in Nashville as he gets older. A seven million dollar property in Los Angeles's Hidden Valley, which features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, is already owned by the couple.
On the other hand, the publication stated that Nicole, who is 57 years old, has her "heart set" on moving back to Australia with Keith and their children Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13. Nicole's plan to move to Los Angeles is in direct opposition to Keith's plans.
“It's common knowledge she's had her heart set on moving back home for a long time,” the spy claimed.
It is possible that Nicole's desire to relocate back to Australia is motivated by the need to be closer to her mother, Janelle, who has been dealing with chronic health problems ever since she was admitted to the hospital in 2016 for heart problems.
“I would love to be able to have a cup of tea with Mum and sit on the balcony and talk about life and have her tell me what I should be doing,” she disclosed to The Sydney Morning Herald in 2020.
In addition, Nicole and Keith are the owners of six apartments in the Latitude building located in Milson's Point, Sydney. This means that they have accumulated more than $27.5 million worth of acquisitions under one roof.
