It has now been revealed that Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, which is the worst-kept secret in the entertainment industry.

In the Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 20, the singer and actress, who had been married for two years, submitted the paperwork without the presence of a counsel while they were there. April 26, 2024, was the day that was listed as the official date of their separation, New Idea Magazine reported.

It is noteworthy that Jennifer, who is 55 years old, elected to file the paperwork on the second anniversary of their regular Georgia wedding ceremony, New Idea Magazine reported. The couple's first wedding took place in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.

The existence of a prenuptial agreement between Ben, who is 52 years old, and Jennifer has not been confirmed; nonetheless, many sources have informed TMZ that "there is indeed no prenuptial agreement." Given that California is a community property state, this indicates that any earnings or profits produced during their relationship will be distributed equally between the two of them.

The singer of "If You Had My Love" reportedly renounced spousal support and urged that the judge refuse the “Argo” star the same thing, as stated in the filings.

The couple picked up where they left off in their relationship in July of 2021, some twenty years after they had postponed their wedding in 2003. During the past few months, there have been numerous reports that their marriage was not doing well.

According to reports, the A-list celebrities ended their cohabitation in the month of May and then put their Beverly Hills property up for sale soon after. During the summer, the star of "Selena" resided in The Hamptons, while Ben stayed in Los Angeles.

Ben got back together with Jennifer Garner, his first wife, just a few days before the file was processed. For the purpose of delivering their daughter Violet to Yale University, they presented a unified front.

Meanwhile, Jennifer is “upset and disappointed with” Ben amid their divorce, according to an unnamed source. “It’s really hit her hard. She’s very upset and disappointed with Ben,” the unidentified insider said to PEOPLE Magazine.

The informant goes on to say that Lopez does not feel at ease residing in the Beverly Hills property that she and her husband took possession of in May 2023 for a rumored sixty million dollars. “She and Ben bought the house for the whole family. It’s way too big for her and filled with too many memories as well," the tipster shared.
