In the past, Heather Locklear and Tom Cruise attempted to have a romantic relationship, but he was not the right person for her.
Heather and Tom were both on the verge of becoming famous throughout the decade of the 1980s. She played the spunky character Sammy Jo on the popular primetime soap opera "Dynasty" at a time when he was just coming off of "Risky Business" and was about to experience a breakthrough with "Top Gun."
Heather, who is 63 years old, just recalled that this is how the two managed to end up going on a date. During her speech at the 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Florida, on September 15, the former cast member of "Melrose Place" disclosed that she and Tom, who is now 62 years old, originally met at a film audition, which he failed to pass, Fox News reported.
"I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm terrible. He's even worse!" she joked then added that neither landed a part.
Heather thought of the boyish Tom as a "little baby," despite the fact that she was only a few months older than him. She was delighted with his good manners when he and Sean Penn visited a gathering at her house. She recalled that they were "nice," and she responded with "Yes, ma'am." Then, the two made the decision to go on a formal date.
"We went out dancing to Club Lingerie at that time," she said. Tom did indeed perform his dance move from "Risky Business!"
"He was really cute,” she allowed. "He was very nice to me."
An insider has informed Star Magazine that the date was most likely planned with the intention of attracting attention to Tom.
"He was rather shy and awkward back then," the source stated. "His handlers must've wanted him to get out there and be seen with girls for publicity and to get people talking about Tom."
In any case, the California babe did not feel the heat from the future Scientologist. She then went on to marry a number of bad boys, including her first husband, Tommy Lee, drummer for Motley Crue, and her second husband, Richie Sambora, of Bon Jovi, PEOPLE Magazine reported.
"Tom was so proper, so clean-cut, Heather thought he was a bit of a geek," the anonymous stated. "She liked guys who had an edge."
As of late, Tom has been romantically involved with his co-star on "M:I," Hayley Atwell, who is 42 years old, and Elsina Khayrova, who was born in Russia and is 37 years old.
