Angelina Jolie has been prioritizing her professional responsibilities and spending time with several of her children since she dropped a lawsuit that accused her estranged ex-husband, Brad Pitt, of physical and verbal abuse.
The "Maleficent" actress, accompanied by her sons Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, and her daughter Zahara, 19, wowed on the red carpet at the New York Film Festival despite conceding the significant legal dispute.
"She seems really relaxed and happy," a news outlet was informed by a source. "It’s like she’s turned over a new leaf."
As previously reported by OK! Magazine, Jolie accused Pitt of strangling one of their children and striking another one in the face during an international flight from France to Los Angeles in 2016. She also asserted that he "shook her" and poured wine and beer on her during the alleged incident.
While Pitt denied ever engaging in physical contact with his children, he acknowledged that he had an alcohol issue. After investigating the 2016 flight incident, the authorities terminated the case two months later without pursuing charges against the Troy actor.
The "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" actress opposed the 2021 judgment in which a judge granted Pitt 50/50 custody of their minor children.
Although the former couple had six children together, the only juveniles remaining are the 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
Six years later, Jolie filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice and the FBI, alleging that "information withheld by DOJ and the FBI contains evidence of the harm" she and the children allegedly experienced in 2016, Off The Press reported.
She reported their refusal to provide the requested information "Continues to hamper, her efforts to obtain for her children necessary ongoing care and medical attention, and has further harmed the children in the family law system."
Nevertheless, Jolie withdrew the lawsuit in late September, stating that "with each party to bear its own fees and costs."
This is the subsequent response to reports that Jolie has been trying to maintain her distance from significant Hollywood events since her separation from Pitt.
"She’s never been a big Hollywood schmoozer," an informant disclosed to In Touch Weekly.
As soon as her youngest children reach the age of 18, Jolie intends to relocate from Los Angeles and temporarily depart the United States.
"I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here," in a recent interview, she stated.
