At one point, David and Victoria Beckham were fervently attempting to establish themselves in the United States social scene.
Victoria and David, like many other busy people, particularly those in Hollywood, have experienced the decline of some of their friendships, The Daily Mail reported. It used to be that they considered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be close friends.
Still, their connection is now more of a "frenemy" situation, especially between Meghan and Victoria. Even though they have not entirely severed their relationship with the Sussexes, they are not eager to participate in social activities with Harry and Meghan.
Because of the nature of their friendship, the Beckhams are having a difficult time managing another former friend with whom they attempted to rekindle their relationship the previous year but who did not show any interest. It has been stated that this individual is "bombarding" the Beckhams with invitations to meet because he intends to relocate to one of their areas in the United States.
According to sources who spoke with Star Magazine, the couple, who own a $80 million home in Miami Beach, politely refuses overtures from Tom Cruise.
"Tom is going to be spending more time in Florida and is hitting up the Beckhams," an insider said. "He doesn't have a lot of friends anymore, so he's focused on wooing them."
The insider continued that with this goal in mind, the 62-year-old has been inundating them with messages expressing his eagerness to spend time with them. Neither Posh nor Becks are particularly enthusiastic about it.
"They aren't blowing him off completely," the insider said. "They've responded once or twice but they're not committing to anything."
Despite Cruise's desire, the Beckhams are keeping him at a remove. This is a reasonable response given that Cruise has previously attempted to enlist the Beckhams as members of the Church of Scientology.
In their opinion, the devout Scientologist and star of "Mission: Impossible" is too passionate for their low-key lifestyle.
"They think he's a little weird- he has to control every social situation, and they're not into that!" the insider continued.
Although the Beckhams are not completely disregarding Cruise—he did show up to Posh's 50th birthday party in April of last year—they appear satisfied to keep him at a distance, at least for the time being.
