Because of an excruciating middle ear infection, the British singer Adele has been unable to perform. The infection has caused her to become deaf in one ear, and her doctors have warned that it could spread to her throat, causing her to lose her singing voice and causing severe vertigo, a new report claimed.

A person with knowledge of the music industry stated that this is Adele's greatest fear. This virus can potentially disrupt her entire career because she places such a high value on her multi-octave voice.

The singer, who is 36 years old and is well known for her famous song "Rolling in the Deep," recently disclosed that she suffered from a persistent bacterial infection known as otitis media, which caused her to lose some of her hearing. She also described the discomfort as being "worse than childbirth."

“It’s very hard to treat,” she shared. “I was on the wrong antibiotics for a few days, and they managed to give me one that started to work. I wanted to chop my ear off a few times … I’m no longer in pain, which is great, but I’m a bit deaf in my left ear.”

When asked by GLOBE Magazine, the well-known New York internist Dr. Stuart Fischer stated that the singer of "Easy on Me" is not even close to being out of the woods because otitis media can readily recur.

According to the expert, it is difficult to determine which of the many probable bacteria is causing the problem because the infection is located behind the ear drum, and the doctor cannot see it. His decision over which antibiotic to prescribe is challenging to make clear.

Fischer emphasized that if you do not receive the appropriate treatment, otitis media might spread to the throat, causing you to develop tonsillitis. This could render a singer unable to act.

Furthermore, according to Fischer, the infection has the potential to travel to the inner ear, which might result in severe vertigo. “Somebody with an inner ear infection looks tipsy despite not being drunk,” he explained. “It’s almost like they are on a ship at sea.”

Simply put, this is the most recent health problem affecting the 16-time Grammy winner. Fans were taken aback when she abruptly canceled her "Weekends with Adele" performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in February, The Daily Mail reported. The reason for her decision was that she could not sing due to an illness that was not disclosed.

“Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency,” she posted on social media. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break … now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice.”

In addition to this, Adele suffered from a fungal skin illness in 2013, which she received while she was performing under the bright lights at Caesars Palace, as per The New York Post.

An informant mentioned that every one of these issues is still occurring. The danger is they may draw the curtain down on Adele's career because of their combined efforts. Following her performance on November 23, she has already said she will take a significant vacation from performing.
