Khalid has officially confirmed he's gay, following assertions that he was outed.
The R&B hitmaker shared a rainbow flag emoji on his X account on Friday night, along with the caption, "There y'all go. Next topic, please, lol."
Khalid's tweet was issued in response to another performer's apparent outing of him on social media, The Daily Mail reported. Fans responded promptly to Khalid's post of three has been incorporated.
The American singer-songwriter was prompted to provide clarification by a response, to which an individual responded, "Wait, I hope Mr Khalid isn’t GEHHH!" Then Khalid tweeted a quote and proclaimed, "I am! And that’s okay." Additionally, that is permissible.
Khalid continued to post through it, explaining "I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me. love yall,"
Khalid seems to be alluding to a series of posts from vocalist Hugo D Almonte, which have since been deleted. Almonte is alleged to have publicly identified Khalid.
Most individuals in the comments expressed their support, with some stating that it is not a significant surprise. They reference his 2022 song, "Satellite," which some consider an LGBTQ anthem.
Khalid confirmed this, adding... "I wasn't hiding anything! It's just not any of your business."
Khalid clarified in subsequent tweets that he was never concealing his sexual orientation, NBC News reported.
A user on social media stated, "he closet was glass baby. but we accept you. its not about who you love its about your artistry!"
Khalid responded, "I wasn't hiding anything! It's just not any of your business."
When a fan claimed that Khalid had published an "LGBTQ anthem" with his 2022 song "Satellite," the Grammy-nominated singer responded by emphasizing that he "wasn't 'hiding' his sexuality."
"thank you!!!!" Khalid wrote, "I was never in hiding."
Khalid's third studio album, "Sincere," was published in August. During its initial week, it made its début in the top 10 of Billboard's Top R&B Albums chart.
The 28-year-old singer raised eyebrows on X earlier in the day by writing, "One of your favorite gay R&B singers suck my d*** and it was really bad."
Hugo didn't end there; he continued,"I was dating this dumb a** singer he’s ugly as f*** but he tried to set me up and lie and say I broke into his house because I broke up with him like why would I go to your house and do all that if I broke up with you dumb a**!"
Many individuals in the comments section of the posts speculated about the identity of the individual to whom he was referring, with many of them assuming that it was Khalid.
Hugo replied, "Y'all really really want me to blow this s*** up."
Afterward, the Dominican American rapper and vocalist appeared to corroborate the predictions of numerous individuals and disclosed KhalId's identity by publishing a selfie of the two of them cuddling.
He wrote, 'B**** a** [ninja emoji] lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.'
Khalid's career has been fruitful. Both of his singles, "Location" and "Young, Dumb & Broke," reached the Billboard Hot 100 and were awarded diamond certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
