The news that Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, is now engaged to her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, is said to have caused him some little emotional distress.
Between the years 2010 and 2018, the pop singer had a sporadic relationship with Selena. After that, he married Hailey Bieber, a former model.
Justin reportedly does not want to linger on the engagement news and expresses his hope that Selena is "well and happy at the end of the day." This information comes from a story, per The Blast.
According to the Daily Mail, Justin was "stung for a brief second" when he learned that Selena and Benny, her boyfriend, had committed to each other romantically.
A source close to the pop star said, "Justin is married and has a child, we all know that, but when he heard that Selena was engaged, he'll admit, it stung for a brief second."
Additionally, the insider said that the revelation made Justin realize that it was "officially the end of an era," despite the fact that both he and Selena had already gone on with their lives.
They added, "His past is so connected with Selena, and now that she is engaged, and he is married and a father, it's a bit of a shock to the system that everyone is getting older."
In the end, Justin is not going to be "stressing much" over the engagement announcement, and he hopes that Selena is "well and happy at the end of the day."
Additionally, he is hoping that this would serve as a signal for fans to refrain from "stanning" the connection that he had previously had with the artist.
Selena's engagement to Benny was announced last month after she uploaded a photo of her stunning ring on Instagram. The singer also posted photographs of Benny kissing her on the side of her head in a tender embrace and smiling. She also posted a photo of herself gazing at her ring after a picnic with Benny.
Selena captioned the carousel of photos, "Forever begins now," expressing her joy to marry Benny. In the comments, Benny acknowledged the adoration, stating, "Hey wait... that's my wife."
Despite not announcing a wedding date, the pair may soon do so.
Justin shared a lovely selfie of himself and Hailey on Instagram days after Selena revealed her engagement to Benny. Despite the picture's unremarkable nature, the 30-year-old singer played Lizzy McAlpine's "All My Ghosts" in the backdrop.
After the image went viral, people thought Justin was gently reaching out to his ex-girlfriend because the song's lyrics reference lovely memories he can't ignore.
Benny allegedly proposed in August after Selena engaged in December.
The Rare Beauty CEO wanted to not reveal her engagement with her ex-boyfriend Justin's fatherhood, according to the Daily Mail.
"They became engaged in August, and Selena didn't want her engagement to be tied to Justin in any way," the insider shared. "They knew it would."
The source said Selena avoided public speculation, stating, "Selena knew that there would be stories accusing her of getting engaged to turn attention away from Justin's baby or that people would claim that she did this to one-up him."
In August, Selena tweeted a photo with a heart emoji over her ring finger, fuelling fan speculation of their engagement. Justin may have been attempting to reach out to Selena, but insiders say he's more concerned about his child Jack and wife.
Justin was mentioned in relation to Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex crime arrest. According to The Mirror, Justin was aware of the charges against his former collaborator but did not intend to consider them.
They also shared that Justin has been in a "happy bubble" since Jack's birth and simply wants to "focus on being a great dad and husband."
