While Jennifer Lopez was reviewing the past year in a video that she uploaded to her Instagram account on Monday, she omitted to mention Ben Affleck, who is no longer romantically involved with her.
With the simple phrase "2024," Lopez, who is 55 years old, accompanied the montage, which featured an orchestral rendition of the song "Waiting for Tonight."
A number of the "Let's Get Loud" singer's professional achievements and significant moments from this year were highlighted in the post. These included photo shoots, live performances, the premiere of her film "Atlas," clips from her documentary "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story" (which was inspired by her relationship with Affleck), and the Met Gala, which she co-chaired.
One person who was conspicuously absent from the roundup was Affleck, with whom she had filed for divorce in August, after they had just been married for two years.
Lopez recognized that she has been going through difficult times over the course of the past year, despite the fact that the post did not contain any pictures or videos of the 52-year-old "Good Will Hunting" actor.
While no images or videos of the actor were included in the post, Lopez acknowledged that she faced hardships over the last 12 months, per People.
"I am very proud of how I handle all the things. All the things," she said in an interview included in the montage. In another clip, she said, "In my low moments, I've learned to just feel the feelings and then let them go."
A number of additional video showed Lopez with her twin children, Max and Emme, who are 16 years old and whom she has with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Additionally, the pop singer was shown celebrating her 55th birthday with a party that was styled after the movie "Bridgerton."
"What a journey this has been. I honestly feel that the best is yet to come," she said in the video. "I can sit here with my heart and soul intact and still feel really full of love."
Another statement made by the creator of Lopez Beauty was, "It's gonna get better, and it always does. It's a beautiful life in that way."
"See you in 2025!" said the text that appeared in the frame at the end of the video greeting that she sent to her followers.
On the second anniversary of the couple's wedding ceremony in Georgia, Lopez submitted a petition for divorce from the Oscar winner.
After breaking up their initial engagement in the early 2000s, the couple had eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022. The following month, they had a party on Affleck's 87-acre property. This was about twenty years after they had called off their first engagement.
Despite the fact that they are no longer together, the couple appears to have maintained their amicable relationship and intend to continue to be involved in one other's life after combining their families during their marriage.
There were even reports of Lopez and Affleck exchanging Christmas presents for one other and their children in the days leading up to the holiday season.
