As Travis Kelce contemplates laying up his uniform, he revealed that Taylor Swift has been serving as a source of inspiration for him to continue his National Football League career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
During the broadcast of "The Stephen A. Smith Show" that aired on Wednesday, the tight end offered his thoughts, saying, "She's fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game."
During the Chiefs' home games at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, Kelce expressed his admiration for the 14-time Grammy winner, stating that she "loves coming" and "cheering" for him throughout the games, per Yahoo.
He expressed that he had unending support to pursue his dreams.
Elsewhere in the episode, the three-time Super Bowl champ mentioned that his feelings about retiring change every single day.
Travis, 35, said that he loved everything he was doing, but at the end of the day, he wasn't having that extreme success on the field, referring to his rocky season.
He continued by expressing excitement for the next couple of games to finish the season, noting that he would reevaluate things as he always does, likely reminding himself how much he loves the game and coming back next year.
He mentioned that it's important to keep things in perspective and that he never wants to reach a point where he's not helping the team win or where he's hurting the team more than he's helping it.
Travis explained that as long as he's playing excellent football, fans will continue to see him in a Chiefs uniform.
The podcaster for "New Heights" confessed that he was "struggling in terms of stats" at the beginning of the 2024-25 season, but that the Chiefs were somehow finding "ways to win games."
"We're not playing our best football," Travis said on his podcast in September, acknowledging he has "not really received a lot of opportunities" to make plays on the field.
Page Six reports that Travis discussed his current lack of chemistry on the field with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in December, expressing frustration.
In comparison to the same point in time the previous year, Travis has scored three touchdowns thus far this season. Despite this, the Chiefs have been successful on the field, as evidenced by their 15 victories and two losses, as reported by the NFL.
They currently share the title of best club in the league for this season with the Detroit Lions.
