Sean "Diddy" Combs' long-awaited federal court hearing in New York has been postponed for two weeks, following last-minute developments that included an unexpected hospital visit for the hip-hop mogul. The 55-year-old, currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, was set to appear before Judge Andrew L. Carter on Monday, but sources told WNYW that the hearing was rescheduled without explanation.

Multiple reports suggest Combs was taken to the hospital Sunday night for an MRI on his knee. Sources cited by the New York Post said he was transported around 10 p.m. and did not spend the night, returning to detention after doctors completed the scan. The rapper has reportedly experienced "a long history of knee issues," dating back to his time running the New York Marathon.

Law&Crime reporter Elizabeth Millner, who has observed Combs in previous court proceedings, described his appearance as notably different. "He appeared just astonishingly thinner, which you can expect [being] inside a federal detention center for a couple of months now," she said. Millner added, "A lot different from the luxury lifestyle that he was living before, but he appeared very noticeably thinner and maybe being locked up in detention is starting to wear on him."

Combs was first arrested on September 16 outside a Manhattan hotel on federal racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation charges linked to prostitution. Last week, prosecutors expanded the indictment to allege that the alleged conspiracy, including kidnapping and drug crimes, began in 2004 rather than 2008. The latest court documents also accuse Combs of coercing two women into sex acts and dangling another woman from a balcony.

He has repeatedly been denied bail by Judge Carter, who said there was a "serious risk" of witness tampering. During his second bail hearing, Combs' legal team proposed home detention with GPS monitoring and a $50 million bail package. However, Judge Carter stated: "The government has proven the defendant is a danger. The bail package is insufficient even on risk of flight," while handing down his decision.

Key Allegations and Timeline:

  • March 2024: Federal authorities raided Combs' Holmby Hills and Miami residences.
  • September 2024: Combs was arrested in Manhattan on multiple federal charges.
  • Civil Lawsuits: Ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura accused Combs of sex trafficking and abuse, settling her suit within a day.
  • Additional Accusers: At least 30 women have filed lawsuits alleging sexual abuse or assault involving Combs.
  • Latest Indictment: Extended the alleged racketeering conspiracy to 2004.

Court filings describe a pattern of alleged sex trafficking, coercion, and drug-related activity at so-called "freak off" parties, where women and men were purportedly forced into sexual acts. Prosecutors further claim Combs kept recordings to blackmail victims. Among the most disturbing accusations are incidents dating back to the early 1990s, when Combs allegedly assaulted multiple women at Uptown Records events.

In separate civil suits, Houston attorney Tony Buzbee has stated he represents over 100 plaintiffs with claims of rape, sexual exploitation, and assault against the rap mogul. Some lawsuits reference video evidence, such as a 2016 altercation where Combs allegedly attacked Ventura in a California hotel. Despite posting a remorseful video afterward, the new federal charges incorporate that footage as part of their case against him.
