Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing another lawsuit alleging sexual misconduct, this time from an anonymous woman who claims he drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home in New York City in 1999. The lawsuit, filed Thursday, adds to the growing list of legal actions against Combs, who has been accused in multiple cases of sexual assault and trafficking.
The plaintiff, a former model and promotional employee who was 23 at the time, alleges she met Combs at a VIP party he was hosting. According to the complaint, the woman was offered a drink by Combs and soon began feeling extreme drowsiness, to the point where she could barely stand. She claims that when she told Combs she needed to leave, he insisted she stay at his home, assuring her nothing inappropriate would happen.
The lawsuit states that the woman made it clear she was married and had no interest in any romantic or sexual involvement with Combs. However, once they arrived at his residence, she alleges he became aggressive, making unwanted advances despite her repeated refusals.
According to the complaint, Combs led her to a bedroom, where he allegedly groped her and penetrated her with his fingers over a span of four hours. The plaintiff claims she continuously resisted and verbally objected, but Combs ignored her pleas. Once she regained full consciousness and control, she demanded that he call her a cab and left immediately.
The woman's legal team, led by attorney Tony Buzbee, is seeking damages for the physical and psychological harm she alleges resulted from the incident.
Combs' legal team responded to the lawsuit, issuing a statement denying the allegations: "No matter how many lawsuits are filed-especially by individuals who refuse to put their own names behind their claims-it won't change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone-man or woman, adult or minor. We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court."
The lawsuit follows a series of legal challenges for the embattled music mogul. Combs is currently incarcerated in New York following his indictment in September on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
Federal prosecutors allege Combs ran a decades-long operation in which he used his industry influence to exploit young women. His arrest came after multiple lawsuits and allegations surfaced, including claims of coercion, physical abuse, and sexual assault.
The latest complaint also claims the plaintiff attempted to text her husband the address from Combs' home in an effort to alert him to her whereabouts. According to the lawsuit, a driver in Combs' employment attempted to hide the mail from which she was reading the address.
Combs, 54, has long denied all allegations against him and has characterized the lawsuits as a coordinated effort to tarnish his reputation. However, the claims have led to significant professional fallout, with multiple brands and business partners distancing themselves from him in recent months.
