A Manhattan federal jury has convicted Tal Alexander, Oren Alexander and Alon Alexander on all 19 federal counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sexual abuse of a minor, marking a dramatic fall for brothers who once ranked among the most prominent brokers in New York's luxury real estate market.

The verdict, delivered Monday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, followed a five-week trial in which prosecutors argued that the brothers used wealth, celebrity connections and access to elite social circles to lure women into situations where they were drugged and sexually assaulted.

The case represents one of the most high-profile criminal proceedings ever tied to the U.S. luxury real estate industry. For years, Tal and Oren Alexander were known as top dealmakers at Douglas Elliman, handling multimillion-dollar property transactions before launching their own brokerage firm, Official, in 2022.

Prosecutors told jurors that the brothers operated what they described as a coordinated pattern of exploitation that spanned years and multiple luxury destinations.

During the trial, 11 women testified, describing encounters that prosecutors said formed part of a broader scheme involving dozens of alleged victims. Court filings referenced more than 60 women who have accused one or more of the brothers of sexual assault over the years.

According to testimony presented in court, the brothers frequently met women through nightclubs, parties and dating apps, later inviting them to exclusive trips or gatherings.

Those invitations often included travel to destinations such as:

  • The Hamptons in New York
  • Aspen, Colorado
  • Luxury trips in the Caribbean

Several witnesses said the atmosphere changed after drinks were served. Prosecutors argued that beverages may have been spiked, with multiple women reporting sudden disorientation after consuming small amounts of alcohol.

One witness told jurors she met the brothers at a 2012 party in the Manhattan apartment of actor Zac Efron, though she testified that she had little interaction with the actor and Efron has not been accused of wrongdoing.

Another witness testified she was raped by Alon Alexander during a 2017 trip to Aspen when she was 17 years old, telling jurors she wanted the brothers stripped of the influence their wealth had given them.

Among the most prominent witnesses was Brooklyn artist and gallery owner Lindsey Acree, who testified that Tal Alexander raped her at a Hamptons home in 2011 after she became disoriented despite drinking less than half a glass of wine.

During testimony, Acree told the court that the brothers' financial power had long shielded them from consequences.

"If there's a kid with a stick hitting people," she said in court, "you take the stick away."

The trial also unfolded alongside a growing number of civil lawsuits against the brothers. One of the latest filings came from Tracy Tutor, who alleged that Oren Alexander drugged and assaulted her in a restaurant bathroom after a real estate event in New York.

The criminal verdict effectively dismantles the brothers' business empire. Their brokerage Official, launched with ambitions to reshape the ultra-luxury real estate market, has already seen partners and clients sever ties following their arrests in 2024.

The prosecution also scrutinized the family's private security business, where Alon Alexander worked, arguing that its resources were sometimes used to facilitate the scheme described in court.

The brothers are currently being held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center and are scheduled to be sentenced on August 6, 2026, where they face the possibility of lengthy prison terms under federal sentencing guidelines.
