Melania Trump has become the subject of a fresh wave of online conspiracy theories after unverified claims alleging she has a "secret daughter" spread rapidly across social media platforms and YouTube channels, pulling old rumors involving Jeffrey Epstein, Italian businessman Paolo Zampolli and the early years of her modeling career back into public view.
The allegations gained traction this week after political commentator and YouTube personality Keith Edwards discussed the theory in a widely circulated online video. Edwards repeatedly noted during the discussion that the claims remain entirely unverified and unsupported by official evidence, but the speculation nevertheless exploded across digital platforms already saturated with conspiracy-driven political content.
At the center of the rumors is a Slovenian woman identified online as Brina Knauss, whom internet users have falsely speculated could be Melania Trump's undisclosed daughter from before her relationship with Donald Trump became public. No documents, legal records or official statements have emerged substantiating any connection beyond online speculation.
The theory also revives longstanding claims surrounding how Melania first met Trump during the late 1990s New York social scene. Publicly, Zampolli has long maintained that he introduced Melania to Trump at a Manhattan fashion event. Edwards, however, referenced separate internet rumors alleging Epstein may have played a role in connecting the future first couple.
"There's also other reports that Melania was introduced to Trump through Epstein. So, Zampolli could very well be doing Melania a favor to say, 'No, no, you can just say I'm going to I did it. I'll say it and then the people have to report on it.' Whereas there's other contradicting evidence that says that actually Epstein introduced Melania to Trump," Edwards said during the video.
No evidence has publicly surfaced confirming Epstein introduced the pair, and neither Melania Trump nor Zampolli has endorsed those claims.
The online narrative expands further into allegations involving Zampolli's former partner, Amanda Ungaro, who was described in the video as a close friend of Melania during her early years in the United States. According to Edwards' retelling of internet rumors, Ungaro allegedly revealed sensitive information after a personal falling-out with Zampolli.
"Now, this is where Ungaro takes hold," Edwards said. "Amanda Ungaro, who was Melania's best friend, and they hung out all the time, even during the holidays. There's so many pictures of them and the Trumps together."
Edwards continued: "Now, after Paolo Zampolli cheated on Amanda, Amanda, who never married Paolo, was deported by ICE."
The discussion then veered into speculation that Brina Knauss could potentially be Zampolli's daughter. Edwards emphasized that these theories originated from online forums and internet investigators rather than documented reporting.
"Donald Trump says she's from Austria. Of course, we know she's from Slovenia. But now this is where it gets interesting. There is internet speculation that there's a woman named Brina Knauss who is a Slovenian model. Look at that. Who that look like?" Edwards said while comparing photographs shown during the video.
"And there's speculation that she perhaps could be the product of Paolo Zampolli and Melania," he added.
The theory relies heavily on circumstantial timelines tied to Melania's modeling career and Brina Knauss' reported birth year. Edwards pointed to internet claims suggesting Knauss appeared publicly as a teenager on Slovenia's national women's basketball team around 2001, which online users argued aligned with an alleged 1985 birth date.
Still, Edwards repeatedly cautioned viewers not to treat the rumors as established fact.
"Could Paolo be the father? We actually don't know," he said. "Amanda Ungaro... was asked about this and said that she actually had met her at one point at one of the events that Paolo hosted, and she said that she was a sweet girl, but she knew nothing about her past."
The renewed attention surrounding Melania Trump also arrives amid broader public fascination with Epstein-related conspiracy theories and the continuing appetite online for stories tied to Trump-world personalities. Social media algorithms have increasingly amplified speculative political content, particularly when it intersects with high-profile figures connected to wealth, celebrity and power.
Melania Trump has aggressively challenged false reporting in the past through legal action. Edwards referenced several of those lawsuits during his video, stating: "Melania has been trying to fight everyone and anyone who is trying to get the truth out there. And the truth has a way of bubbling up whether you want it to or not."
No credible evidence has emerged supporting claims that Melania Trump has a secret daughter, nor has any official investigation, legal filing or verified documentation substantiated the allegations circulating online.
