If Princess Diana were still alive today, she would absolutely love her first grandchild, Prince George, the son of Prince William. A friend of the Princess of Wales described the soon-to-be seven-year-old royal as a funny and feisty kid.
Julia Samuel, who is one of Prince George's seven godmothers, revealed that it is heartbreaking Prince George never got to meet his grandmother. Princess Diana died in 1997, when Prince William was just 17, and barely even thinking about having his family.
So, as a matter of tradition and to remember her by, Samuel makes sure to give her godson gifts that will honor Princess Diana's memory. She said in the podcast How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, that she usually gives Prince George toys that are noisy and take up a lot of time to build.
Samuel shared that it makes Prince William and Prince George laugh whenever she gives them these gifts as it is apparently what Princess Diana did to Samuel's kids when she was still alive. Samuel also described Prince George as an amazing child.
Princess Diana would also be certainly proud of her first-born son and future king, Prince William, who is the second in line to the British throne. This week, the Duke of Cambridge finally got to visit a pub in Norfolk to ask local businesses how they are preparing for their reopening, after months of shutting down due to COVID-19.
While speaking to pub owners, Prince William apparently let it out that his children love hanging out at the Rose & Crown restaurant because they have a play area. He said that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Princess Louis have spent "a few times" there but the kids' facilities, for now, are still closed because of the restrictions against COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Prince George and Princess Charlotte recently finished another term of school amid the pandemic. They've spent the last few months homeschooling with Prince William and Kate Middleton as their guide since schools have to be shutdown to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could now breathe a sigh of relief since it's officially summer vacation for Prince George, who finished Year 2, and Princess Charlotte, who finished her Reception Year. Prince William and Kate once said during an interview with BBC that their children are such balls of energy that they always end up exhausted after doing school work and playing.
