Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly working on two new documentary shows for streaming giant Netflix. The first series will reportedly focus exclusively on Meghan, while the second will cover the world of professional polo and include the pair as executive producers.
Deadline reported that Prince Harry and Meghan are currently producing two nonfiction programs with Sony Pictures Television's The Intellectual Property Corporation. The first series will feature Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, talking about the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.
The showrunners will be Leah Hariton from "Selena + Chef" and Michael Steed, who previously worked on "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction."
Meghan and Chanel Pysnik will co-executive produce the series for Archewell Productions. The news that the two shows are in development follows Meghan's introduction of a new business endeavor called American Riviera Orchard.
Prince Harry and Meghan's second series will delve into the world of professional polo. It will be aimed mostly at the US. The USPA National Polo Centre in Wellington, Florida, will host the Open Polo Championship. The series will cover the polo world, revealing how players live and compete at the top levels of the sport.
The show was most likely inspired by Prince Harry's passion of polo, as he is a skilled player who has competed in international competitions. Boardwalk Pictures will produce the series, and Pysnik, Prince Harry, and Meghan will act as executive producers for Archewell Productions.
Andrew Fried, Sarina Roma, Ian Samplin, Balaclava, and Dane Lillegard will also serve as executive producers for Boardwalk Pictures. Both series are still in the early phases of production and are currently nameless.
The two new programs are only the latest of Prince Harry and Meghan's Netflix collaborations. They have popular titles such as the "Harry & Meghan" docuseries, the "Live To Lead" interview series with notable personalities like as Greta Thunberg and Gloria Steinem, and Harry's "Heart of Invictus" documentary series.
During a recent event, Netflix content president Bela Bajaria revealed that the couple has a "bunch" of projects in the works, including a film and a scripted series. It is unclear what those projects will be, but they are most likely to be romantic flicks, given the couple has acquired the rights to a novel.
Carley Fortune's "Meet Me At The Lake" has been optioned by Prince Harry and Meghan. The novel follows the narrative of a couple who meet in their thirties and explores themes of childhood trauma such as losing a parent in a car accident, mental health issues, and postpartum depression.
Meghan signed a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media two months ago, marking the couple's second collaboration. The company is behind popular podcasts such as "Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus." It is unclear what type of podcast the duchess will make with the company, but she will host.
Meghan's "Archetypes" podcast series will also be distributed through Spotify as part of the arrangement with Lemonada. Following its introduction in August 2022, the series received over 10 million downloads, with around a million listens every episode, and debuted as Spotify's No.1 podcast in 47 countries worldwide.
"Archetypes" was a series that looked into the roots of identities that still hold women back today. It featured guests such as Mariah Carey, who spoke on being a diva, actress Issa Rae, and Ziwe Fumudoh, who discussed the misconceptions associated with being a woman of color in the world.
The announcement of the couple's new ventures comes amid reports that Meghan is rethinking a trip to the UK with Harry and their children due to security worries.

"It's now got to the point where Meghan doesn't want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn't feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone,” a tipster claimed.
"[Harry] would prefer it if the entire family made regular visits to see his family and build bridges, but there is so much going on behind the scenes that it just isn't possible at the moment,” another suggested, per Irish Mirror.
