Perhaps, his time spent on the streets of London was enough for musician Ed Sheeran to consider prohibiting others to do the same.
His way of doing it, however, isn't inspiring at all; According to Telegraph UK, Sheeran has managed to win a decision permitting him to have "anti-homeless" railing, effectively stopping homeless people from encroaching his £8 million home in London. This after his agent announced that his Kensington and Chelsea brickworks abode will be protected by railings from the pedestrian gates to the area just outside his home.
The plans were actually opposed for a time. The area is part of a conservation and, in keeping with the appearance of the area, the railings were deemed to be "too domestic." The plans were amended in favor of a more industrial look and it was finally approved.
If Sheeran is to be asked, however, it's anything but a homeless shelter. NME reports that the railings were installed so that people won't be "rough sleeping" anywhere near his home in other words, though, still preventing homeless people from sleeping around his property.
That's not all that the railing is for, though; these are for the further protection of the grounds and to prevent rubbish from piling up on the concrete area. Sheeran was also defiant, saying that the railings weren't because he wanted to prevent homeless people from sleeping around his property. He pointed out that countless contributions for homeless shelters and crisis centers showed something contrary to his 'anti-homeless' image.
He went further, saying that the railings were more to keep the 'paparazzi' away than anything else.
There is something that was vetoed, though.
The singer was quoted to have been planning to marry his girlfriend and that was on a chapel found on his property. The chapel has flint material and is described as a "Saxon" chapel. However, this was not approved by the planners, saying that the appearance of the chapel-re-made to look like a ruin-was not contributing to the appearance of the area.
