Traveling has been a luxury for some people today. While others may have gone to different parts of the world, some are still dreaming of spending their free time out of the country. Many people, due to their lack of resources, ended up staying in their country without any dreams of going abroad. But, there is still one more way that you could get to experience another country in just one sitting. How could that be possible? Is it expensive?
Stay in Hong Kong, Experience New Zealand
Just recently, a restaurant is becoming popular in the nation of Hong Kong. Packed with equipment enough to broaden the knowledge of someone to another country, the restaurant can get you to New Zealand without leaving Hong Kong. Travel journalist Andrea Oschetti made a way to fuse in foods coming to a foreign country while having a fantastic conversation about travel.
Oschetti, in an interview, explained that his restaurant would allow someone to meet exciting people offering a new perspective of the country; things that are not usually seen in guidebooks. And this August, his recipes would feature New Zealand delicacies. He also invited Maori artists Jacob Tautari, Leilani Rickard and Rick Peters to be their beloved guests during the night. The dinner, which will be held in the city of Wong Chuk Hang, would feature three distinct Italian meals, inspired by Maori specialties.
Know New Zealand in One Bite
The dinner aims to get new knowledge with their guest and spark conversations that are not usually evident in feasts. Oschetti even explained that this wouldn't just talk about fusion cooking, but also a fresh perspective about New Zealand and its people. The chef is still uncertain as to how everything would look like but believes that burrata might be the central dish during that night. Burrata, which resembles Earth, is a semi-soft cheese covered with olives.
This experiment made by Oschetti would allow people to understand what diversity mean. Through this, the maker is hopeful that people will get to respect each others' culture and be interested to see how other people spend time with each other. Food, being a good connector, would serve as breakers of walls during the dinner.
The Travel Salon could accommodate 25 guests on a banquet style table. Oschetti wanted to maximize the conversation, which is why he limits it to a specific number of people. As of today, many people already reserved a slot and is on the waiting list already.
