It seems Norm MacDonald has had experienced an unlucky year, particularly with the type of people he has worked with lately. In his latest book, which has its forward written by Louis CK, and in the text, he greatly paid tribute to the disgraced, Roseanne Barr. It is worth noting that both stars were involved in controversial incidents in late 2017 and 2018.
In an interview for his brand new TV show, MacDonald talked about his fellow comedians, Celebrity Insider reports. The former star of Saturday Night Live also went to discuss the incidents that tanked their careers.
MacDonald first dished on the latest outing of many Hollywood celebrities, all of whom seem to have suffered from different sexual misconducts and controversies.
According to him, celebrities are always on the public's radar, but they are rarely given second chances. What is worse is that the first reaction they usually receive is having to deny all allegations, as they fear an immediate retaliation.
MacDonald confessed about encouraging Louis to call Barr, even though she "was very hard on Louis before that," Fox News reports. He added that, at that time, she was "crying constantly."
While most are focusing on the victims, Norm said that none of them had to endure the widespread shaming, including the loss of their careers which seemed to have happened overnight.
As it was previously reported, Barr, right before being fired for racially charged jokes on Twitter, took Louis to task during an interview with The Daily Beast. She was joking about the fact that Louis somehow had found the courage to admit his masturbating activities, which have mostly happened in front of women.
Even though Roseanne made fun of Louis, they were successful in creating a pleasant conversation. They even consoled one another and, at the same time, were able to forgive. MacDonald explained that, while he would love to dole out advice, he has never gone through a situation like the ones his fellow comics experienced. Norm is no stranger to controversy, though.
During an interview which he did ten years ago, he criticized Bill Clinton during his election against George Bush. This eventually sparked the ire of Hollywood elites who, in one way or another preferred the Democratic candidate over the Republican. He now has a show coming out on Netflix soon called Norm MacDonald Has A Show, and it premieres later in September.
