Demi Lovato has been the meat of many headlines after her near-fatal drug overdose in July. Now, she has been recently spotted for the first time since the incident.

According to Mirror, Demi Lovato is looking happier and healthier than ever. The "Sober" singer has maintained her social media silence since releasing a statement on August 5, but now, fans can rest easy knowing she is out and about working on her rehabilitation.

The 26-year-old singer, who has documented her struggles with substance abuse over the years, was spotted chatting away to a friend on a low-key coffee date as she enjoyed a temporary break from rehab.

The candid snapshot shows a smiling Demi Lovato accompanying a friend on a casual walk. The 26-year-old is holding a cup of coffee while rocking a pair of black skinny jeans, an olive green jacket, and a black baseball cap. She looks fantastic here.

"Demi has lost some weight and she's feeling better," a source revealed to US Weekly. "She's repositioning herself again and getting her life back on track and retraining herself on the 12 steps to recovery. She is doing much better and eventually, she will come back to LA."

Besides checking into an undisclosed rehab facility, the Demi Lovato sought additional treatment in Chicago, where she reportedly met with a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and sobriety several times. "Demi's cutting out all the negativity from her life," an insider was quoted saying. "She's even put the Hollywood Hills home where she overdosed up for sale because the thought of going back there sends shivers down her spine."

According to Brandon Johnson, a man who has claimed he supplied Demi Lovato with drugs, the pair freebased oxycodone the night of her tragic overdose. "Demi still has a long way to go on her road to recovery, but she's looking forward to this new chapter," the insider added. "Thanks to all the love and support she's received, Demi no longer feels alone."

Demi Lovato was thought to have moved rehab facilities in the two months since she was rushed to hospital with an overdose, after taking pills that seemed to be laced with fentanyl - the same opioid painkiller that killed Prince, Lil Peep, and Tom Petty.

Just last week, Demi Lovato's mum Dianna De La Garza revealed her daughter was doing well in her first public interview since the incident.
