Business travelers often spend their time waiting for their flight at the airport. So to make their time more worthwhile, here are some tips on how you can still work on that emails or presentations while on standby.

Use Airport Apps

Aside from checking your travel time, destination, and itinerary, the business traveler also have to check the airport's facilities if you are going to spend a long time there. There are mobile apps that feature "navigation tips" and other relevant information about the airport that you need to know like its amenities and charging places.

These apps can also tell your waiting time based on other passengers' experience, your gate details, departure, and arrival times. There are also other apps that allow business travelers to book for a couple of hours stay at the airport lounge, so you can work in a quiet and more peaceful place, per the South China Morning Post.

Get An APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)

You can get an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) for HK$490 (US$63) a year if you are a citizen of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member country. The card intends to make the business travelers' experience more efficient.

"This multiple-journey visa allows cardholders to enjoy visa-free entry and quicker immigration clearance at designated ABTC clearance lanes," Flight Centre Hong Kong head of operations Shane Davis explained. "Outside the Asia Pacific region, cardholders can also access fast-track immigration lanes usually reserved for cabin crew at all international airports in the US and selected airports in Canada."

Secure Your Internet Connection

Internet connection is a must for every business traveler. There are airports that offer free Wi-Fi, but a network connection may be intermittent. There are also other countries like China and India that require an in-country mobile number before you can access its free Wi-Fi.

Anyhow, if you are going to use these free connections, you should always be cautious. FCM Travel Solutions noted business travelers should assure they are using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or even make sure the sites they are visiting have "https" before the URL. It is to avoid anyone to steal your passwords or even have access to your private files. Also, make it a habit to clear your internet cookies before disconnecting.

Weekday Flights

Each year, the number of air travelers are increasing, which means waiting lines are longer, and airports are more crowded. To avoid these things, business travelers should book their flights on weekdays, preferably on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, per American Express Global Business Travel.

Airports are more condensed on Friday to Sunday as these are the most available days for almost all people. Flying on weekdays can make business travelers' flight better, and they can also get cheaper fare cost.
