Fans finally see the transformation of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) to Saul Goodman in "Better Call Saul" Season 4 finale. Now that it seems the show inches closer to "Breaking Bad" timeline, how far does the series will go in "Better Call Saul" Season 5?
Now that Jimmy becomes Saul Goodman, it looks like he is now ready to do everything to get what he wants. "That's a question that we're going to have to answer in detail in Season Five," the show's co-creator Peter Gould told the Rolling Stone in an interview.
Gould said Jimmy might still be called "Jimmy" in "Better Call Saul" Season 5 as long as Kim (Rhea Seehorn) calls him that name. On the other hand, in a different interview, Odenkirk revealed what he wanted to see in his character in the next season.
"I would like to see him win as Saul, even though I don't think being Saul is the best choice any person could make," the 55-year-old actor told Variety. He also teased that Jimmy might be in danger in "Better Call Saul" Season 5 for working with the "bad people."
Lalo (Tony Dalton) would be a "very scary guy" in "Better Call Saul" Season 5. Lalo and Nacho's (Michael Mando) storyline would get explored next season. There might be a chance Jimmy would work with them that would probably put him in danger. From here, the criminal lawyer would face the consequences of the dark path he chose.
Additionally, Odenkirk revealed "Better Call Saul" Season 5 would feature how he would deal with Kim. Saul Goodman still has to build his persona in the new season and how he would work out with everyone, including the love of his life.
Of course, the show would also delve to the life of Gene. Fans already saw a lot of scenes involving the Cinnabon manager in Omaha. But Odenkirk said there would be a few episodes featuring Gene after the events of "Breaking Bad." Would there be a crossover of the original series and "Better Call Saul" Season 5?
"We have this world of Omaha which all takes place after the events of "Breaking Bad," Gould hinted about "Better Call Saul" Season 5. "And I think there's more to say about it."
Talking about the time the show has left, Gould revealed "Better Call Saul" Season 5 would be "closer to the end than to the beginning." The showrunner explained they are still thoroughly thinking how long the show would run. But just like "Breaking Bad," the series allowed them to go "back and forth in time."
So Gould believed that "Better Call Saul" Season 5 still has many stories to tell. There would be also another chapter to the tale that happened after "Breaking Bad."
