Friends of Ben Affleck feared he would have an alcohol relapse while doing his upcoming film, titled Torrance, according to the claim of the latest report. But this story was confirmed to be made-up and not true at all.
The movie Torrance is about a former high school basketball all-star who lost his family and marriage as he struggles with alcohol addiction, where he attempted to make a comeback as a coach of a high school basketball team at his alma mater. Now, National Enquirer and RadarOnline maintain the film "hits too close to home for [Affleck's] friends' comfort."
The alleged source close to Affleck "snitched" he wanted to win "another Oscar," and he thinks that the movie will be his "vehicle" as he knows how to identify the tortured soul of the character because it mirrors his image. Then tipster contends his friend fears his portrayal of the character will lead to alcohol relapse.
"Everybody's afraid this movie will be way too emotionally damaging for him," continues the untraceable insider and added Affleck is sure that the movie will be his "big comeback." Then, the article started pointing out the actor's real-life drinking problems which lead to destroyed marriage to Jennifer Garner and also talked about his latest stint in the rehab.
A real friend of Affleck would never reveal such personal details about the actor's life, and his friends are protective of him. A rep for Affleck also confirmed to Gossip Cop that the claim of both publications is false, and noted his "friends loved the script for him." It's also worth noting that the tabloids never mentioned who are these supposed friends of the actor.
Meanwhile, for the past three months, these outlets made several reports regarding Affleck's condition and personal life. For instance, National Enquirer claims earlier this month that Affleck is planning to go to China to cure alcohol addiction by undergoing brain surgery. But this report isn't true as the said surgery was banned in China since 2004. Then, RadarOnline wrongly reported in July that Affleck and Lindsay Shookus had "shotgun wedding" in Hawaii. And just recently, a story has been busted for claiming Affleck plans to marry Playboy model Shauna Sexton after his rehab stint.
National Enquirer and RadarOnline are only making stories to create Affleck articles, as per Gossip Cop, and do not know anyone "close to the actor." Regardless, his rep already confirmed that the latest claim is only a made-up story as well.
