People who know and follow BTS can agree that the group's music circles around K-pop. But as far as one of the members is a concern, it does not have to be like that.

According to Metro, BTS member Suga believes that K-pop - contrary to popular belief - is not a genre. For him, it means more than that. The South Korean singer said that he had given a lot of thought about it. And so far, he does not see its connection for being a genre of music.

During BTS' visit to the United States, the world's biggest boy band underwent a question and answer portion at the Grammy Museum. It was conducted together with executive director Scott Goldman. The whole interview was uploaded to social media thanks to the museum's official Facebook page.

BTS was asked about K-pop and the genre as a whole. Goldman pried if it is an accurate label of their music and how do they exactly feel about the categorization of their group.

After a few seconds, BTS member Suga picked up the phone and decided to answer the question. He said that when it comes to K-pop genre, he has tried to talk little and be careful about it. For him, he does not want to define it as a genre, let alone correlate their music to it.

Suga further explained that BTS does not view K-pop as a genre. And instead of approaching it that way, the better thing to do is take it as an "integrated content."

The BTS member said that K-pop is not just about the music as a whole. It includes other elements, such as clothes, make-up, and accessories, just to name a few. "All these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package," he said.

The BTS member claimed that this definition completely sets K-pop apart from other forms of music, including the genres people have been trying to tie it into. For him, the better move is to approach K-pop as an "integration of different content."

In related news, another BTS member is making huge headlines. It is none other than RM, who is the group's leader. Billboard reports that RM's "playlist" is flying into the top Billboard 200.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States. It is based on a variety of criteria, such as multi-metric consumption and equivalent album units. Since releasing "Mono," RM's success continues to grow.
