After meeting the US President Donald Trump earlier this month, Kanye West announced he is now distancing himself from politics after Blexit controversy emerged. In a series of tweets, the 41-year-old rapper revealed his eyes are now wide open as he felt like he is only being used to disseminate messages he doesn't even believe in.

"My eyes are now wide open and (I) now realize I've been used to spread messages I don't believe in," Kanye West tweeted. "I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!"

Kanye West also told his 28.7 million Twitter followers the things he believes in. He said he supports creating jobs and opportunities for people, prison reform, gun laws for a safer world, and people who risk their lives to protect others. He also said that he believes in "love and compassion" for people who seek asylum and protect their children from violence and war.

"I support holding people who misuse their power accountable," Kim Kardashian's husband added. According to the Independent, Kanye West was referring to Candace Owens. The conservative commentator claimed Ye designed a clothing campaign for Blexit, which encourages black Americans to quit the Democratic party.

Kanye West explained that he introduced Candace Owens to a person who made the logo. As these people didn't want their names to get involved, they used the "Gold Digger" name instead.

He continued to say that he didn't want to be associated with Blexit as he had nothing to do with it. Kanye West then thanked his family, loved ones, and community for supporting his real "beliefs and vision for a better world."

Variety reported that Kanye West's only political remarks in his series of tweets were about Candace Owen. The African-American conservative earlier claimed that she asked the "I Love It" singer's help to create the Blexit logo.

Candace Owen tweeted on Monday, October 29, that Kanye West has "totally different political beliefs" than her, so he recommended a different designer. However, the publication noted that the damage had been done among the Yeezy designer's fans who believed that he supported Blexit.

It is also unclear if Kanye West's tweets mean that he is also distancing himself from Donald Trump after his recent visit at the White House. He even wore the Make America Great Again cap to show his support for the president.
