Majority of the Snapchat's core users are young adults. This is the same group of people that are least likely to vote during the U.S. election cycle.

Remember that the 2018 midterm elections will take place on Nov. 6, and no effort is being spared to get out the vote. Social media platform Snapchat, which helped over 400,000 people register to vote in October via their in-app registration tool, is now rolling out more Election Day tools and filters to help get people to the polls.

On this note, Snapchat has decided to add some new features on Election Day to encourage Snapchatters to get out the vote.
During the U.S midterm elections on Tuesday, Snap is partnering with getting to the Polls to help users find their polling location on Snap Map.

Immediately as the user opens Snap Map on Tuesday, they're confronted by a prompt message telling them to tap a card to find their polling place.

The Snapchat users will also get a video and text reminder on Election Day for them to go vote. The Snapchat users will also be in a position to add "I Voted" filters and lenses to their Snaps. Also, Snapchat Discover will also be hosting live Election Night coverage.

The Snapchat Company is just one of many U.S. tech companies pushing voter registration drives on their apps and websites in recent weeks. A report released by the company revealed that it had registered more than 400,000 people to vote over a recent two-week period.

There are other recent tech-led efforts that are being directed towards getting people to the polls include Uber and Lyft. They're both offering free or discounted rides, and companies like Dropbox, Okta, and Etsy are giving their employees paid time off on Election Day for them to vote.

There are some surveys showing that only a third of people aged 18-29 are definitely planning to cast a vote in the midterms. A report made by Snapchat revealed that starting on Nov. 2, special nationwide filters will be available as we count down to Election Day.

The filters will be reminders that it's time for you and your friends to vote soon, and are meant to be shared on your Snap story and with your followers.

There'll also be a link between Snap and the Ballot Ready. This will enable users to have a look at the sample ballots so that they can figure out their voting plan ahead of Election Day.
