Jennie of BLACKPINK has officially released her single "Solo" as a part of YG Entertainment plan to give each of the members an opportunity to record their solo tracks. And since then, K-pop fans seem can't get enough of its catchy beat.
Her first ever single was made available on YouTube on November 12 at around 6 PM KST, according to All K-pop. But just a few hours after it was posted, the video has already garnered more than 11 million views as of the writing, and the digits are still rising. A YouTube subscriber with username Lovely Knitting posted a comment on the song saying, "I'm glad YG let the members have a solo because this vibe is really different with Blackpink vibe. Can't wait for the rest of members to show their individual's vibe too."
Being the first to go solo, Jennie admitted how hard the pressure is hitting her. She said, "I do feel burdened being the first, but I want to have fun and think of it's an extension of what we've shown so far as BLACKPINK."
The singer also shared how their Producer Yang Hyun Suk was able to help her in every way as she prepares for her solo debut, as posted on Soompi. According to her, their producer was very hands-on with every detail. She also shared how she always receives advice and reminders from him every day. Even when it comes with her outfit, he was always there to give her honest comments about what looks good on her and what are those that do not.
No matter how beautiful and talented she is, Jennie still admitted that she is still too shy especially when it comes to performing solo. She also added how Suk was very patient with her and always tries to push her to her limit. He always has faith that the singer can do better. So he always reminds her to have confidence, let go, and "go out and slay everyone."
With the success of her solo debut, the 'As if it's Your Last' singer shared she still can't believe of how things have been. She shared, "I still can't believe the track is going to be actually released. I should get ready to feel it."
Producer Suk said that after Jennie, the next member of BLACKPINK who will release her solo track would be Rose. According to him, this is made possible to "present BLACKPINK's outstanding individual talent and skills in addition to their strong teamwork as a group."
