When you hear people talk about death, how does it make you feel? Most people would feel uncomfortable. Some would feel sad since the thought of leaving their loved ones is such heavy stuff to take. But not with Marvel Comics Visionary Stan Lee. His answer will leave you amazed.
About four years ago, the American Television host Larry King has been given the opportunity to interview with the legend, Lee. As posted on E! News, it was then when the host asked the creator of the world of Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Black Panther one of the questions people are usually hesitant to answer. Are you afraid of death?
Lee bravely answered, "I don't fear death. I'm curious." He added, "I can't imagine what it could be like, because I personally feel when you die, that's the end. It's the machine that the engine is off,"
Being a non-religious Jewish agnostic, Lee doesn't believe in heaven or hell. According to him, death is like a period that puts an end into someone's life. If your life is done, then it's done.
Though he believed that nothing seems to follow after death, there is still but one thing that made him curious about it, he shared "But how can there be nothing forever? You know what I mean? I can't believe it."
Lee has always been open with his thoughts about death. He always shows he was never afraid to face it, especially with his age. He believes that nothing lasts forever, SYFY News shared. There will be a time when everybody you love, and everything you see will fade. No one can stop it. All we can do is just move on.
For the talented creator, what matters is that he lived a happy, contented and purposeful life. There is only but one thing that makes him sad about death, and that is leaving his wife and daughter. According to him, "I'd hate to leave my wife and my daughter, but heaven knows it's beyond me. And I don't even really believe in heaven."
When asked to choose between immortality and superhero or supervillain, he answered without any hesitation, "I'd rather be a superhero than a supervillain." He explained he never wanted to become immortal. Though living for eternity with all he has right now: fame, talents, family, friends, and happiness, might seem exciting, seeing all his friends and families die one by one will be the heartbreak he will never choose to experience. He added, he would only choose immortality if all those that are close to his heart will also have the same ability to skip death.
