A lot of fans and bookworms alike are patiently waiting for "The Winds of Winter" release. As seven years have passed since its predecessor, "A Dance With Dragons," came out, they are all wondering what will happen next to Brienne and Jaime's storyline.

Fans have been rooting for Brienne and Jaime in "Game of Thrones." But as George R.R. Martin has yet to finish and release "The Winds of Winter," its television adaptation has overtaken "A Song of Ice and Fire" story. Hence, viewers and readers have a hard time to predict what will happen with the two.

In a post on Reddit, one user said that "A Dance of Dragons" major cliffhanger was when Brienne look for Jaime to bring him back to Lady Stoneheart. So the big question is would Brienne put Jaime in danger in "The Winds of Winter?"

According to Express.co.uk, Brienne and Jaime's storyline is different from "Game of Thrones." So fans can't foresee what will happen if the House of Tarth's warrior takes the Kingslayer to Lady Stoneheart in "The Winds of Winter." "Or will she? Will they try to do a runner and end up being hunted by the Outlaws?" the user asked.

With the delay of "The Winds of Winter" release, fans also gave their theories about the possible Jaime and Brienne storyline. One fan suggested that Jaime should have a trial in the storm like what Hound had been through.

Another one said that Thoros might convince Lady Stoneheart to let Jaime have a trial by combat in "The Winds of Winter." The Oathbreaker might choose Brienne as his champion while LSH would choose Lem as the Brotherhood's representative to fight against him.

Whatever might happen, it might still take a long while before fans would see what would happen between Jaime and Brienne in "The Winds of Winter." George R.R. Martin is still hard at work to finish "A Song of Ice and Fire" sixth installment. "I've been struggling with it for a few years," the 70-year-old author admitted, per Winter is Coming.

The "Fire and Blood" writer went on to explain that "The Winds of Winder" is not a typical novel as it contains a lot of stories. It features a lot of protagonists, and each has different supporting characters, villains, allies, lovers, and worlds, among others. These branches of stories make it extremely hard for George R.R. Martin to finish the book that easily. "So it's very, very challenging," he said.
