Rumors about the release of the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer continue ahead of the show's return in April 2019. The countdown to the series return begins and along with that the anticipation to see the preview, which is believed to arrive this week.

HBO remains mum when it comes to matters about the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer. The network has only so far announced when the show returns, but even that lacked concrete detail. Fans still do not know when exactly in April the series returns to TV screens. HBO Programming Chief Casey Bloys confirmed a trailer release before the year ends but did not elaborate.

Thus, there is no telling when the trailer arrives. Although, there is high hope that it airs this weekend during the Game of Thrones panel at the Comic-Con Experience in San Paulo, Brazil. According to Inverse, series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are set to appear to talk about the show. Joining them are a few of the casts including Maisie Williams, who plays the assassin Arya Stark and John Bradley, known for his role as Samwell Tarly.

It is reportedly likely that the showrunners and the casts will share a few details about the new season. Fans also have their fingers crossed that the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer premieres at the event.

However, past trailer releases hint that HBO will likely air the teaser or trailer nearing the show's return and on television. Speculations point to a release in February during Super Bowl. Likewise, the network tends to release teasers in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment during commercials.

There is also the off chance that HBO will announce the exact release date in April along with the trailer. If this is so, then the preview should roll around earlier than February.

The last time fans saw a hint of what is to come in Game of Thrones Season 8 was during the summer. The network released a sizzle reel that shows Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa's (Sophia Turner) reunion. Other than that, there were no other teases.

At least, with that little preview, fans now know that Jon Snow arrives safely in Winterfell in Game of Thrones Season 8. From where Season 7 ended, he along with Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), and her army were on their way to Winterfell to prepare for the arrival of the Night King and his troop of White Walkers.
