The cameras have been actively rolling for the second season of "Killing Eve" since July, but details about the upcoming installment's storyline have closely kept under wraps. However, it looks like Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer's character, Eve Polastri, and Villanelle, will be meeting up again. Will the two have a showdown in Shanghai?

Photos showing Eve and Villanelle together on the set of "Killing Eve" have fans wondering what could happen in season 2. Are the MI5 security operative and the assassin working together or working against each other? Are they fast becoming friends, lovers or enemies?

While the true nature of their relationship is unclear at this point, Comer confirmed that her character and Oh's Eve would not just meet once on "Killing Eve" season 2. They will have many encounters because they will be at each other's tails.

It bears noting, however, that in the Luke Jennings book series "Codename Villanelle" from which the show is based, Eve and Villanelle have never met face-to-face, according to Mirror. But "Killing Eve" developer Phoebe Waller-Bridge has taken artistic liberties to deliver a slightly different direction from the books in translating the spy story for television.

One angle in the book series, which may be of particular interest to TV viewers, is the possibility that Eve will follow Villanelle to Shanghai. However, according to Refinery29, the paparazzi have not yet spotted the "Killing Eve" season 2 cast and crew anywhere in Asia for now. So, if the Asian scenes will not happen in the second season, it's a big possibility for the third season.

"Killing Eve" centers on an MI5 desk officer (Eve) who has been given the assignment to track down a talented but psychopathic female killer (Villanelle). In the course of the story, the two characters became obsessed and fascinated with each other.

The show has received critical acclaim following the airing of the first season last April on BBC America. Oh, earned an Emmy nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal as Eve.

Meanwhile, another batch of photos shared on Twitter from the set of "Killing Eve" season 2 showed that Villanelle's handler, Konstantin Vasiliev (Kim Bodnia), is very much alive. Vasiliev supposedly died in the first season as Eve's boss told her. So, it's either the scenes the actor filmed are for a flashback or someone on Eve's team has been lying to her all this time.

"Killing Eve" season 2 is expected to begin its run in  Spring 2019. The cast has, so far, been filming in London, Paris, and Amsterdam.
