George R.R. Martin gave his fans a glimmer of hope after he gave an update about his much-awaited novel, "The Winds of Winter." Although the 70-year-old is still in the clouds with the success of "Fire & Blood," he promised that he would finish "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel.
In a recent post on his Not a Blog page, George R.R. Martin talked about "A Song of Ice and Fire," "The Winds of Winter," Westeros, "Fire & Blood, "Game of Thrones," his work, and his plans. "It's been a couple of very exciting weeks for me and Archmaester Gyldayn," he said, referring to the narrator of his latest book.
While talking about the publicity tour for "Fire & Blood," George R.R. Martin discussed "A Song of Ice and Fire." He understood the fans' frustrations and patience and promised that "The Winds of Winter" would still be in the works.
George R.R. Martin revealed that he is back in his "fortress of solitude" and in Westeros to finish "The Winds of Winter." "It won't be tomorrow, and it won't be next week, but you will get the end of 'A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE,'" he vowed.
George R.R. Martin also mentioned the final season of "Game of Thrones" and its upcoming release in April 2019. He also touched the topic of its spinoff series with the tentative title "The Long Night." He also said that there are a "couple of more shows" and "a few other cool things" coming. With all the works he needs to get done, fans are only hoping to get their hands on the book of "The Winds of Winter."
Additionally, George R.R. Martina also celebrated the success of "Fire & Blood," even though it is not a part of "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. The over 700-page House Targaryen's history received massive support from the "Game of Thrones" fans, although he published it before "The Winds of Winter."
George R.R. Martin admitted that he felt delighted that fans stayed with him for "Fire & Blood," and acknowledged their patience and "unflagging support." Bustle reported that the book made it on the bestseller list of the United States. It even took the top spot of the New York Times bestseller list, as well as in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Spain, Germany, and France.
