"True Detective" Season 3 seems to return to the "dark, profound, and mystical" feels of Season 1. There is also a great expectation to the inclusion of its new lead star Mahershala Ali. His portrayal of his character as younger Hays back to the 70s and 80s to a confused and disturbed detective in the present day makes it so convincing. His line, "My whole brain's a bunch of missing pieces," even proves how upset and haunted he is.
"True Detective" Season 3 perfectly avoids answering fans' questions. It only leaves viewers with a lot of teases and hints that can mean something to Hays' case or misdirect fans' idea about its story.
Just like the previous seasons, series creator Nic Pizzolatto will write "True Detective" Season 2 except for Episode 4 that is written by the "Deadwood" creator David Milch. The crime-drama anthology television series will be out on Jan. 13, 2019, on HBO.
