The cast and crew of "13 Reasons Why" can now go back to filming the rest of season 3. Production was temporarily suspended last November because of the massive fire in the hills of California that produced poor air quality and threatened many lives.

Since it was virtually impossible to work under those conditions, the California Film Commission had to order productions to abandon their filming locations. But a spokesperson for the commission recently confirmed to The Wrap that several sites in the state have now been given clearance thus work can effectively resume as soon as possible.

"13 Reasons Why" was one of the lucky few productions to have been given early clearance. Given its targeted schedule of completion, the third season may wrap up filming season 3 by February 2019.

Cameras had started rolling for "13 Reasons Why" season 3 since June when Netflix confirmed its renewal. But will this be the show's final run?

The series has successfully expanded the source material based on the novel that Jay Asher wrote and while Netflix has not given yet given any confirmation, What's On Netflix predicted that the show could last until season 4.

Show creator Brian Yorkery intimated with The Hollywood Reporter that since they have gone off the books, there are more stories to tell. There's also a lot of potential for the show's future since "13 Reasons Why" has plenty of characters with rich background stories.

But along with the show's popularity also comes the controversies. Recently, experts from the University of Michigan published in a study on the journal Psychiatric Services that highlighted how the series greatly influenced depressed teenagers to commit suicide.

Meanwhile, viewers expecting to see Katherine Langford (Hannah Baker) in the third season may be disappointed since the actress is not going to be part of the new installment. Langford has been quite vocal in saying that her participation in the series will only be until the second season.

Instead, "13 Reasons Why" season 3 will focus on the repercussions of Tyler's (Devin Druid) attempted mass shooting. It will also shift to other serious issues like heroin addiction and teen pregnancy.

Netflix has not yet announced the third season's release date, and there have been no trailers so far. Previous installments have been out in the streaming platform during the spring season.
