The latest Avengers: Endgame plot theory involves an unlikely team-up to rescue Iron Man. According to a fan, Pepper Potts and Rocket Raccoon work together to retrieve the hero from space.

The Avengers: Endgame trailer revealed a sad and depressing situation for Tony Stark. He is adrift in space without the hope of rescue in sight. He is losing his strength as his supplies are slowly dwindling — the sight of the Iron Man at a lost on what to do affected fans so much that they have pleased with Elon Musk and NASA for his rescue.

However, to stick to the movie scenario, NASA and the Tesla founder cannot do anything to help. Instead, a fan suggested that Rocket Raccoon and Pepper Potts are the likely people who can rescue Iron Man.

The rescue mission supposedly happens in the aftermath of The Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. The death of Groot prompts Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) to find out what happened to his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy who were on Titan. Viewers may remember that Nebula, Gamora, and Star-Lord were with Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man on the Benatar when they tried to defeat the Mad Titan. Rocket does not know that they too turned to dust after the Thanos snap.

To locate his friends, he ends up at STARK Enterprises where he meets Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), who is also actively looking for Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) after their conversation got cut. Together, they team up to locate the Benatar and their loved ones and fly off into space using a STARK ship, with Pepper Pots wearing the Rescue armor. It supposedly makes sense for the pair to team up since Rocket is a tech genius and Pepper Potts already knows how to maneuver the Rescue suit.

On the contrary, another fan argued that Iron Man's rescue would not play out in Avengers: Endgame for emotional buildup. If the directors, The Russo Brothers, were to show this right near the onset of the film, then it would defeat the purpose of creating some emotional heft to Stark's situation. Iron Man's rescue could happen off-screen, and the film focuses instead on what Captain America and the rest of the survivors do to rescue their friends.

However, it would be a disservice to fans if Iron Man's rescue does not appear on screen since they have become invested in it following the release of the Avengers: Endgame trailer. There are logical ways to have an emotional reunion for the heroes without removing this important scene in the film.
