The Avengers: Endgame trailer is here and so begins the speculations and theories as viewers try to dissect every scene and dialogues for possible clues. Fans managed to stir interest on a superhero's possible return from the dead in a clip that shows a Groot look-alike alive and well.

The Avengers: Endgame trailer certainly had fans in a mix of emotions after they saw the casualties Thanos brought on Earth. The Mad Titan wiped out half of the human population including the beloved superheroes. It is no surprise then that fans would hold on to the hope of one of the superhero's early return, although much of the film will focus on bringing back those who died from the Thanos snap.

One particular scene in the trailer is enough to stir speculations that Groot has returned from the dead. The beloved character could very well be alive, but how and why remains a big question. After all, he too disintegrated when fans last saw him in Avengers: Infinity War. Only Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) survived the Thanos snap among the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Still, the shiny figure inside the ship Iron Man is driving boasts an uncanny resemblance with the teenaged Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel). The figure sits behind Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as he maneuvers the ship. Fans pointed out this similarity and shared a screenshot of the character's appearance in the Avengers: Endgame trailer on social media.

Groot's appearance does not make sense though given what happened to him in Avengers: Infinity War. If he is indeed, the tiny figure with Tony Stark, then the chances are high that the other superheroes are alive somewhere too.

However, the aftermath of the Thanos snap clearly did not show Groot alive. Only Nebula and Iron Man were last seen on Titan and they are now drifting through space with no promise of rescue. It is probably Nebula behind Tony Stark in the ship and not Groot. The figure is too shiny, not at all twigs and splinters, to be the tree character.

The image is probably just one of the set designs meant to trick the eye and fans just want to put a face on anything, even a piece of equipment, to get over the death of the superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War. In the meantime, viewers would have to wait to find out how the heroes return from the dead when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
