Not everything you know about Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons may not be true at all. A fan just revealed that she may not be the Mother of Dragons after all.

Fans continue to find any and every detail they can to bide time ahead of the show's return in April 2019. With Game of Thrones Season 8 still months away, viewers cannot help but look for ways to entertain themselves aside from binge-watching the past seven seasons of the series.

While Reddit may be a popular site to find the latest interesting news or Game of Thrones Season 8 theories, it is also a good place to get good insights about the show. One in particular concerns the identities of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons.

One viewer claimed that Daenerys should not be labeled as the "Mother of Dragons" at all since those winged creatures she regards as her children are not dragons at all. Instead, they are called wyverns.

Reddit user 4h0y1m4p1r4t3 pointed out that a dragon has four legs and two wings, which does not describe Daenerys' creatures. All three of her children, Viserion, Rhaegal, and Drogon, only have two legs, which makes them fall into the wyvern category, which has two legs and two wings. The wyverns also use their wings as an extra pair of legs.

This realization comes ahead of the exciting return of the beasts in the Game of Thrones Season 8. These creatures have played a great role in the past seasons, especially in Daenerys' battles. They will come handy again when Daenerys' tries to take the Iron Throne from Cersei Lannister in Season 8.

Fans speculate that Daenerys will order her dragons Drogon and Rhaegal to burn Kings Landing. The Game of Thrones Season 8 teaser trailer even fueled this speculation with the image of the golden lion figurine engulfed in flames. The lion is a representation of the House Lannister. Ice also swept over Westeros, which represents the coming of Winter.

An exception is Viserion who will likely burn Winterfell down to the ground in the anticipated Night King battle. Viewers may remember that the Night King turned him into a wight in the Season 7 finale and the beast burned down The Wall which granted the White Walkers access to the North.

Regardless of how Daenerys' dragons play a role in the final installment, fans can expect to see a major showdown happen in Game of Thrones Season 8. Rhaegal and Drogon will be a big help in taking down the Night King's undead army.
