Game of Thrones Season 8 is still four months away, and no one knows how its story plays out yet, but this does not stop viewers from naming who most likely dies. Fans may very well start crying now because Daenerys Targaryen is among them.

Avid followers of the hit HBO series have their fingers crossed that none of their beloved characters meet their demise in the final installment. Daenerys, Tyrion, Jon Snow, and Arya Stark are among the most-loved characters in the show, whom viewers want to see alive until the finale.

However, a study into the lives and deaths of the characters in the past seven seasons surprisingly revealed an unexpected death. Daenerys, as most fans know as the Mother of Dragons, is said to be among the casualties in Game of Thrones Season 8.

Researchers came upon this result after they gathered data surrounding the circumstances that led to the characters' death in the first seven seasons. One key indicator is their allegiance. Those who did not switch allegiance at least once died, while those who did survive.

This puts Daenerys' life in question. After all, she never even once switched allegiance. Instead, she had people under her command.

"Apparently, sticking true to your convictions is a surefire way to get nixed."

This study fuels speculations that Daenerys dies in Game of Thrones Season 8 to fulfill the prophecy of the Azor Ahai. Fans have long speculated that she dies in the hands of the Azor Ahai, whom they believe is Jon Snow (Kit Harington). Regardless if she switches places or not, she is bound to meet her demise in the hands of her nephew and lover.

There is one contradiction in the study though, and it refers to the likelihood for strong female characters and highborn to come out alive in Game of Thrones Season 8. This includes Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) since she is a descendant of the noble Targaryen family, who once ruled Kings Landing.

However, author George R.R. Martin is not a fan of having happy endings for his characters even for Daenerys. There can be no happy family for her in Game of Thrones Season 8 even if she becomes pregnant with Jon Snow's child. There can only be one survivor between her and Jon, and it is likely the former bastard Stark son, who turned out to be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
