After admitting that she suffers from inferiority complex, Han Ye Ri will be back to the small screen. The 34-year-old actress may star in a new SBS drama alongside Jo Jung Suk and Yoon Shi Yoon.
According to Soompi, a source from Han Ye Ri's agency, Saram Entertainment, revealed that the actress is now reviewing an offer to be a part of the new SBS drama, "Ugeumchi." If the "Hello, My Twenties!" star accepts it, it will be her returning show in the network after "Switch," which ended in May.
Han Ye Ri will be working with Jo Jung Suk and Yoon Shi Yoon, who are also in talks to do the new SBS drama. They will be playing the roles of half-brothers, but on opposing sides. The actress' character, on the other hand, has yet to be revealed.
Jo Jung Suk's agency, JS Company, confirmed and said, "'Ugeumchi' is one of the projects he has been offered." However, they have yet to finalize things as he is also still reviewing the offer. Alternatively, Yoon Shi Yoon's agency admitted that its talent is "positively considering" to accept the deal.
"Ugeumchi" will tell the tale of the Battle of Ugeumchi in 1894 during the Donghak Peasant Revolution. Jo Jung Suk and Yoon Shi Yoon will play the roles of half-brothers Baek Yi Kang and Baek Yi Hyun, who have different mothers. They share a father who is a notorious and wealthy government employee.
Baek Yi Kang's mother is his father's slave. He was born out wedlock and fruit of an indecent affair. In contrast, Baek Yi Hyun is the family's youngest son and the first "rightful son" of their father and his wife.
Jo Jung Suk's role will grow with a sharp gaze and cold smile. He also speaks with an angry tone. However, Yoon Shi Yoon's character is his total opposite. He has grace, with a pleasant personality and a nice speaking manner.
Jung Hyun Min will write "Ugeumchi" while Shin Kyung Soo will direct the new SBS drama. The show is set to be out next spring for the network's Wednesday-Thursday schedule.
Meanwhile, in an October episode of MBC's "Talk Nomad," Han Ye Ri revealed she had suffered from an inferiority complex, and her career helped her to overcome it. Previously, the actress would hear things like her looks didn't fit a dancer, as she has a major in dancing.
Some people even said that her face wasn't a "big theater face." "I experienced an inferiority complex about my looks my times," Han Ye Ri admitted. However, when she started making movies, she was often told that she has an attractive face that helped her coped from her condition.
