Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are officially married. The two shared gorgeous photos on Wednesday following their nuptials held on December 23, confirming they officially tied the knot.

Now, a source told Entertainment Tonight the couple wanted to get married on their terms and decided to keep it intimate and secret. The two have been reportedly talking about marriage throughout their relationship, and everyone asks them when it will happen, and they did it now.

The gathering, as per the insider, was small, intimate, and seems to be spontaneous. Cyrus and Hemsworth reportedly did some pre-wedding planning before the holiday season and decided not to make it a big ceremony. The couple wants to keep their wedding a secret.

The source said the majority of the visitors were the most important people in their lives. Cyrus' mom, Tish Cyrus, was emotional and tearing up while the two exchanged vows. Their friends were so excited for them as well. The newly-wed also chose to do it at their home in Tennessee since they've talked about this matter before.

Cyrus and Hemsworth were a long-time couple. They started seeing each other while filming "The Last Song" back in 2010 and then got engaged in 2012. However, the two broke up and reconnect to each other in 2016.

The source said Cyrus had made a huge and important step towards building their future and she believes Hemsworth is the perfect match for her. Their wedding was exactly what they wanted, the ET source added.

"They were smiling from ear to ear, and you could truly see their love."

Meanwhile, before the California wildfire happened in November, a source told People magazine that the couple had originally planned to wed in their Malibu home. However, due to the devastating wildfire that burned their compound, Cyrus and Hemsworth decided to move their wedding in the singer's home in Franklin, Tennessee.

And now, Cyrus chooses to remain positive and focus on everything she has in her life. The couple becomes stronger following the wildfire, and both of them were focused on helping the less fortunate. The source also added the two were now looking for a Malibu house as newlyweds, and they can't wait to live there again.
