A new report claims Mariah Carey is jealous of Lady Gaga's recent success with "A Star Is Born" as she's hoping to have her movie career as well. But this claim has been corrected and confirmed to be a made-up story.

One of the latest headlines of Star magazine declares, "Mariah Going Gaga With Jealousy!" The article written by the outlet claims the singer wanted to rebrand herself by being a movie star after seeing Gaga received all the praise with her movie A Star Is Born.

Carey was part of the big-screen musical drama Glitter back in 2001, but the movie was said to be a bust with both audiences and critics. An alleged source of the tabloid asserted the Glitter was one of the "worst films" in the history, so the singer allegedly promised herself not to pursue her acting career after that. But when she saw how people go gaga over A Star Is Born, the singer thinks she also deserves an Oscar-worthy role as well.

The unnamed tipster further contends Carey's alleged "dream gig" was to be like that of Whitney Houston in "The Bodyguard." The singer is also aware her star power is waning, so she believes making a hit movie would be the only way for her to get back to the top.

According to Gossip Cop, this new claim is entirely made-up from a non-existing source. Carey's spokesperson confirmed the report of the tabloid is both fake and lame. The rep added it's really sad the media keeps insisting on creating false narratives that pit women against each other. The truth is, Carey is focused on her music career. Just recently, she wrapped up her All I Want For Christmas Is You European Tour.

Meanwhile, it's worth mentioning that several tabloids keep on making up false claims about different celebrities being jealous of Gaga's success with A Star Is Born. For instance, Gossip Cop busted a fake report in Junes claiming Barbara Streisand - who starred in the original 1976 movie - was trying to overshadow Gaga's remake by releasing a new edition of her own film.

RadarOnline also created a false narrative in September claiming Madonna was "livid" that A Star Is Born is getting Oscar buzz. After that, In Touch magazine wrongly reported Jennifer Lawrence was angry with Bradley Cooper for casting Gaga in the movie instead of her. All of these reports were only fabricated.
