Justin Bieber reportedly tried running into Selena Gomez while he was on a recent hike in Los Angeles, and the 24-year-old singer is really "desperate" to cross paths with his ex-girlfriend. But this report, however, has been proved to be a false claim.
According to RadarOnline, Gomez went to L.A.'s Runyon Canyon last January 4, which is reportedly one day after Bieber trekked the three-mile rocky trail. The outlet contends that the only reason why he decided to go hiking in the parkland is that he's attempting to reach his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend, hoping they would cross path.
The tabloid speculated that Gomez decided to visit Runyon Canyon the next day as she was "taunting" Bieber. The outlet cited a so-called source claiming he was unsuccessful get in contact with his ex through her family and mutual pals, so he just went to L.A.'s hotspot wishing he would "run-in" with Gomez on its trail.
According to Gossip Cop, the entire report is inaccurate and purely fabricated. One of the problems with the tabloid's claim is that it said Bieber was at the Runyon Canyon one day, while Gomez was seen in the park another day. Hence, it's unlikely the singer tried running into his ex-girlfriend, given the fact they went there on different days.
The Hollywood Reporter wrote an article in 2015 with a headline, "Why Hiking Runyon Canyon Is the Best Way to See the Stars". At the start of the article, the outlet noted Bieber was among of the Hollywood celebrities you could spot hiking on the L.A.'s hotspot, and he's been going there for years now, whether he's in a relationship with Gomez or not.
The singer was spotted hiking with Kendall Jenner in January 2015, before having lunch with his now-wife Hailey Baldwin. On the same year, Bieber had a conversation with a stranger while hiking at Runyon Canyon as well. He's also known showing his abs there and was even reported he hiked up Runyon Canyon with family and friends with his shirt on.
Therefore, Bieber has a history of hiking the trail, and it has nothing to do with Gomez, despite the claim of the tabloid. RadarOnline also has a history of making false narratives about the singer's personal life. For instance, Gossip Cop busted the outlet just last year for wrongly reporting he only proposed to Baldwin as he wanted to get revenge with Gomez dating Caleb Stevens. But, she didn't even date Stevens.
And regardless, a source close to Bieber confirmed to Gossip Cop that the latest claim of the tabloid is pure nonsense.
